Triton Le Cakewalk Definition File (Including Category)...

Post by DemonTraitor »

Hi all

I have created a Cakewalk Instrument file in such a way that it should make things easier for selecting the sound you want.

Basically I have added Categories to the Patch names. There are two versions of the file. One version has the full Category name, and the other version has a 3 letter abbreviated category name (so the full patch name can fit in the Cakewalk drop-down-list).

DOWNLOAD HERE

Examples from the files:

Full Category Version:

[Triton Le Program A]
000=A000 [FastSynth] Big Sweep Stab
001=A001 [Keyboard] Acoustic Piano
002=A002 [Hit/Arpg] Auto pilot
003=A003 [Strings] Legato Strings
004=A004 [Drums] Trance/Garage Kit
005=A005 [Bass] Bass 4 Da Punck
006=A006 [Brass] Brass of Power
007=A007 [Organ] Jazz Organ 1
008=A008 [Bell/Mallet] VS Bell Boy
009=A009 [SlowSynth] Korgmatose
010=A010 [LeadSynth] 2VCO Planet Lead

Abbreviated Category Version:

[Triton Le Program A]
000=A000 [FST] Big Sweep Stab
001=A001 [KYB] Acoustic Piano
002=A002 [HIT] Auto pilot
003=A003 [STR] Legato Strings
004=A004 [DRM] Trance/Garage Kit
005=A005 [BAS] Bass 4 Da Punck
006=A006 [BRS] Brass of Power
007=A007 [OGN] Jazz Organ 1
008=A008 [BLM] VS Bell Boy
009=A009 [SLW] Korgmatose
010=A010 [LSY] 2VCO Planet Lead

I have included a key with the abbreviated definitions file, which looks like this:

; Program Categories Key:
; BAS = Bass, BLM = Bell/Mallet, DRM = Drums, FST = FastSynth, GUI = Guitar/Plucked, HIT = Hit/Arpg
; KYB = Keyboard, LSY = LeadSynth, MOS = Motion Synth, OGN = Organ, STR = Strings, SLW = SlowSynth
; VOC = Vocal/Airy, WND = Woodwind/Reed

; Combination Categories Key (as above except for...):
; BSP = BassSplits, BSR = BrassReed, CPX = Complex/SE, HIT = Ds/Hits, LSP = LeadSplit, ORC = Orchestra
; PAD = Pads, SYN = Synth, WLD = World

In SONAR, the full category version looks like this:

It would be nice to actually be able to group the patches by Category, but Cakewalk seems to sort the names by patch number automatically.

I though I would make these files available, in the hope that someone else may find them useful :)

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
