other effects similar to kp3

Post by defex »

Well i really like the kp3, especially for non-run of the mill effects, and the sheer fun of using it. I was thinking of getting another one(!)

but is there any other effects units (besides that cheap behringer thing with the giant wheel on it) that might compliment the kp3.

I found something which was made a few years ago (Red Sound Federation) which looked interesting.

does anyone know of anything else i ought to look at?
(im still really tempted to get a second kp3 :D )

There is the alesis airfx. (I might have the name slightly wrong)

It's a little dome that you wave your hand over to adjust effects. This is even better than the kaoss in a way, because it's got 4 axis instead of 2, but I cant remember if it sounds any good.

I tried one out several years ago and I really didn't think it had anything special to offer over the Kaoss Pad.

maybe a bit limited with no midi or anything

but it seems very intuitive to use.

I use both the alesis airsynth and alesis air fx through the kaoss pad. That's the ideal way to run it...I have tons of stuff I have recorded with this set up. The possibilities are nearly endless.

Actually, I've recently started running it through the effect loop in my line 6 vetta ii, which allows me to access the effects from there as well. the possibilities get pretty limitless. ;)
