Creating old organ sounds, Leslie effects etc.

Post by Fatalmasterpiece »

I am working on a project where I want some very old sounding organesque sounds, hopefully pre 1970s or even older. I would love to find a way to create a good Leslie effect or some of the warm, atmospheric harp sounds you can create on a Hammond. I wouldn't want to limit this to just organs either if I could apply any of these techniques to other sounds to create a somewhat antiquated effect.

I was wondering if any of you had any experience creating such sounds with your Korg and if you could share some of your knowledge.

Try some of TR's preset Organ programs and combies, e.g. program C039 Old Tone-Wheel, it has a good Leslie effect in it. Try pushing the joystick up (just a push, and no need to hold it there), and listen to the rotary speed gradually changing.
