glitchy 1.3.1
I have had my O since Christmas '05, and installed update 1.3.1 in fall of '07...ever since then, the sequencer and essentially the recording/sampling aspect of the instrument has been wonky, either going into an entirely different Combi and turning off the Karma when I use the Enter-Rec/Write protocol. It does not record at all in Program mode. This has all been repeatedly brought to the attention of Korg Canada. The unit was in for repairs in Montreal and returned a few days ago with a new motherboard, but still with 1.3.1. Reason given was, any regression to 1.2.1 might make setups, song info etc. unreadable, and that all they can do is wait for a new update that cures the glitches. My question is, how many months am I expected to muddle on without any recording or midi functions to record? Apparently, my situation is not uncommon with other units updated to 1.3.1...I need my instrument for live shows, but have been unable to work professionally recording music with since November. How can this be allowed to go on any longer?

What's the fix???
That's just the point...far as I can see there have been
R&D projects going ahead full steam based on 1.3.1 with no consideration for the many units that are inoperable by half for 6-7 months and counting...some priorities need to get straightened out...the fix is to make some noiz about it.

I would agree with you, except for the fact that my unit is hardly inoperable. It crashes maybe once every couple of months -- not ideal, but not enough to really get me upset.
The Korg guys seem to be genuinely interested in fixing bugs... maybe try posting more specific details about the problems you're experiencing, & that way a) it'll help confirm whether it's an OS issue and not your specific unit, b) it drastically increases the likelihood that it might get addressed in the next OS.

Hm - my experience is the other way round: the last update was a real improvement in stability. Since 1.3.1 I rarely experience strange behaviour or freezes.
If you have found a real bug - that is you can reproduce it any time - post the exact procedure here. Korg reads it and takes care of it. In the past they always did.

glitchy 1.3.1
I have described the details of the sequencer problems several times to the OASYS people at JAM Industries in Montreal, and even had my O shipped there due to an accident that required a new motherboard. Since getting it back, I noticed the occasional "stuck" instrument in a combi that will not allow itself to be replaced by another program (instrument sound) . I gave them the chance to send me back a refurbished OASYS in full working order and got back the same glitches as I had before with even more complications, and all I hear back is to wait for update 1.4.1...well, Christmas is coming too. I still love this instrument, but get the feeling that Korg is sawing off the limb I went out on.

Re: glitchy 1.3.1
There are people on these forums that likely have more hands-on knowledge & experience with the Oasys than even the distributor does... so as I said earlier, I think it'd really help if you posted more specific details as to the problems you're experiencing.sologuy wrote:I have described the details of the sequencer problems several times to the OASYS people at JAM Industries in Montreal, and even had my O shipped there due to an accident that required a new motherboard. Maybe the OS is indeed glitchy, or maybe the distributor messed up and didn't repair your unit properly. Either way, providing more info might help diagnose your problem and increase the odds that something can actually be done about it. Again, my experience with my O has been very different than yours, which makes me think it might be your unit.
