I want to make a drum pattern similar to the drum machine used by Martin Rev in the band Suicide. This similar, "steam-powered" sounding pattern appears throughout their music, with alterations in tempo. I was trying to find some prog. instrument on the Korg Triton LE which had a similar sounding effect, editing sounds, tuning it down, speeding them up, slowing them down...alas, I couldn't find anything, I tried all sorts of combinations. Any tips? Here's prime examples, in these two songs:
