Not to be confuse with a song by the same name, this electro ditty was like pulling my teeth out one by one. I wrote like 3 sets of lyrics on different themes, redid the vocals several times, got so sick of it I almost ditched the whole thing. But here it is as it turned out. By the way this was done on my TS as I'm still learning slowly the M3 (plus the summer months are not kind to my composing).

I do not go out at night
And I keep my windows tight
Check my food for crawly things
Poison bugs with tiny wings
Something’s gnawing at my feet
When I’m underneath the sheet
Once a day I check my toes
I’m too young to decompose
That’s the telephone again
As if I had any friends
And the knocking at my door
Is getting harder to ignore
All that writing on the wall
Seems to echo in the hall
There’s a war inside my head
And I need to go to bed
Watcha watcha gonna do
When the whole damn world is watching you
Watcha watcha gonna say
When the whole damn word just fades away
Is it time to take my pills
Or revise my social skills
I would gladly entertain
But I’d drive you all insane
So I snuggle up instead
With the bear that shares my bed
And instead of counting sheep
I will scream myself to sleep

What a fascinating musical mind you have!
I can only wish I had your imagination.
I love the clarity, and punch of this, and again, this is very very cool.

Stephen hit it! Your approach to writing arrangement is very cool, not to mention unique. If I tried something like this it would come out like pre-90's video game music!
The secondary breakdown after the 3 minute mark is great! It always sounds like you got so much going on yet your tracks are never cluttered.
Lyrically you have captured it! And a nice angle at that.
Well thought out and glad it did not get the can!

Stephen, I am truly flattered and glad to have people appreciate my imagination. It's funny how mundane my stuff seems to me and predictable (that's after hearing it 300 times). So a fresh pair of ears is truly the litmus test. I remember initially being excited by these very repetitive loops I'd made and then losing interest in them. It's supposed to be a 80's type Depeche Mode music box feeling, or like it was done on a cheap Casio from back then. Then I decided to lead should be like the old Cramps stuff, just a deliberate almost out of step plunk, plunk with a lot of pitch bend. Thing is, these ideas came to me but I couldn't get the whole thing to gel and become its own thing.
Jonsolo: If I sound uncluttered it's because in this case I only allowed myself to stick with the initial inspiration and I didn't add at all except the chorus part. And the leads I pared back on purpose because it sounded so funny to be so utterly 3 chord-ish and bouncey and I've never done this style in this way before. I was going for a Human League thing or Beatbox but it ended up like this. Oh, well. I actually started out with the title: Cosmonaut and that didn't come together, then it was about a guy who murdered his father and is in jail, like a "I fought the law but the law won" vibe. Also, the words sounded a bit Johnny Cash, but that didn't work either as it was too dark and creepy. then I went with these words about feeling paranoid and creepy but in a lighthearted way. That seemed to fit the music better.

Great intro, clean mix and punchy groove. The vocals fit in well and sound fun. I think its a very original composition, consitent with your style but very different from the uniform noise one hears on the radio.

P.S. you've gotta love it:

Or revise my social skills"
It would fit as a signature under my posts

George, I did not give you permisson to write songs about my life....and keep the bear out of it. I thought I was normal until I started listening to your song.
There is nothing predictable here. You are not only unique, you work hard on making these ideas professional and solid. I am always amazed at the amount of work you put into these things. Your song is about a guy who stays locked up inside his house. I'm thinking this must have taken all month to think up and construct. I am a little concerned about your social life. Get out of the apt, man!
All kidding aside.... great piece!

Sewa: I thougt you might like the electronic sound of this as it reminds me in a way of that piece you just posted, as far as playful and electric. I find it fascinating to hear that this sounds original when I thought it was very derivative of almost every 80s song I ever heard. But I guess if you combine ideas in a new way then it is original. And do use my lines as a signature if the urge comes over you. I can use all the exposure I can get.
Jazlover: You let the cat out of the bag. I was doing your biography but didn't want to drop your name to protect the innocent. And you can have your bear back, he's been stealing the covers. Also, I have been getting out, we have a pool here and I have a dark tan already. But I do appreciate your comments. I put in many an hour on this one, especially the lyrics, which I believe kept me up nights. Strangely, but I could not come up with a chorus, either melodically or lyrically. Nothing catchy enough would come to me and everything I did was totally lame. Then believe it or not, I was listening to Lady Marmalade and the phrase 'get ya, get ya yaya's here' jumped out at me and I said I need to do something like 'getcha or whacha whacha.' and now the rest is history.

Ha ha ha hahaha - the ending cracked me up! Thats something I would do - nice fading delta modulation ....
This tune rocks - has your signature all over it - I would recognize it anywhere / time in 2 beats! Love all the background embellishment sounds in there, and the "bam bam bam bam" - how did you do that?
The beginning was interesting - at first i thought the vocals were buried a bit, but then I got used to it I guess 'cause it didn't distract me.
Fun solo section in there and the lyrics were great!!!
So how much time did you put into this one. And I was wondering if you were going to use your new toy for this month's tune. I am waiting 2C what U will produce with the M3.

PS - bam bam bam bam - U crack me up!!!

Pecca: thanks for the plug for the spoken vocal, you must have missed my 'lastmonth' though as it was actually singing (If I Could Only Remember Your Name) I believe you were referring to the month before last with the Cyberpunks. Anyway, I hate my vocals period so I'm back and forth on that aspect all the time.
Drwho: Not sure which is the bam-bam. Do you mean the lead thing that leads into the second part of each verse, like right before 'something's gnawing at my feet' That was like a guitarish thing put thru overdrive or something like that. I don't remember exactly. As for the M3. I have another song ready for August that is still on the TS. I did a couple of songs early while the weather was still spring like, because I know how I am in the summer. But I am working on a tune that so far has no shape at all on the M3, but just let me say that this M3 is blowing my TS out of the water. I could never achieve this sound on the TS. There is a different punch and shine on the M3, even without a lot of effects, especially the exb-radias, really glad I added that. Great coarseness to some sounds and nice scooping effect when you tweak the knobs. So you will hear the M3 loud and clear for my September piece, that's a promise.

George, I still don't know how you can do that, but I always love your songs!
Once again, great sounds, maniac care of details in the arrangments (which I find very very positive) and deep knowledge of your gear!
I'm hearing great steps in mixing/mastering, too!
Well done!

Diego, thank you so much. I am finding the M3 not too hard to learns as well as it is organized very similar to the Triton. Hopefully my tunes on there will show the same quality and even more. Right now the sequences I'm doing on the m3 kick major butt. The hard part is taking original inspiration and constructing a completed song with a good thematic idea and executing it well to the end so it becomes a finished song with beginning middle and end and has something new to say. I appreciate your ears here because my friends think my songs are very nice but they do not know how many hours it takes to produce these pieces as once it's done it sounds simple and easy, but as you know that is the illusion. Make it sound easy. Thank you so much. I enjoy your music very much too. You are very talented and knowledgeable.

Thanks a lot George, it's always a great pleasure for me to listen to your tunes, and a way to learn a lot of things!
...I think it's quite common that non-musicians people suppose you need a few to make songs sound easy to listen to...but it's clear that you spend a lot of time having care of a lot of details!
You're smart, talented, and of course, a great musician!
I'm so sorry I can't follow you that much on lyrics because of my poor english, I'm sure they're great, too!
regards
