Problem importing drums into M1 digital edition

Post by swammy »

I've searched and searched and absolutely cannot find an answer to this problem. Whenever I try to import a drum preset, it doesn't work and when I check "Drum Kit" under the "Easy" tab, they all say "init drumkit" for each one that won't work. Anyone have or know of a possible solution to this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes sir. When I import the drum presets from sysex files, about 90% of the time I get this problem. Just to clarify, it's only when I import them from sysex files I've obtained elsewhere. The factory preset drum presets work fine.

Are you sure the sysex files are good? Perhaps they don't contain drum data, or the data is corrupted.

I also seem to recall something about loading data blocks in a particular order for a particular reason, it might be in the manual. Not sure if it's related but I mention it just in case.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. That's exactly what the problem was. It appears as if the banks containing the drum kits don't come before other banks (Well, I've only tested it as if being the first MIDI channel slot, and it worked that way), then they drums won't work. Thank You again. Isn't amazing that most problems in the world are fixed with a simple solution that is overlooked before getting advice? :P
