Creating Heavy Bass (begginer)

Post by Kwaito »

Howzit

Can anyone help with the starting blocks for creating a deep, organ bursting bass.

I've been trying to create my own...and its a deep black void. Can anyone advice on what sounds is good to use and what parts to stay away from in the X50 Sound editing.

Thanks and Peace

Its probably not something that a synth like this is going to do really well. In particular, I don't know that the filters are up to it. To burst organs you need to use the resonance to boost the krap out of the botom end. You can try but I think these filters have a very narrow resonance band so I don't know how effective it will be. So you'd use a nice, fat sound in one oscillator and maybe a DWGS Sine wave or something similar in the other. The first will give you bass presence in the mix and the second will add the organ-bursting sub-bass. Turn your cutoff to zero and modulate it with an envelope, setting the decay time to match the beat of the bassline. Then increase the resonance to see how it goes. Good luck!
