SMPL board for audio input?

Post by jonlord »

Is it posible to use SMPL board as audio input?
I want to plug in my second keyboard in Tr's SMPL board and use it real time as audio in because i'm wasting 4 chanels on mixer (live) for 2 keys connected stereo, +mic, +1ch for leslie emulator... This would enable me to use onley teo chn's or 1 stereo on mix +mic etc...
Is it posible?
What are the options?

Yup, I'm pretty sure this is possible. You can also choose whether to route these inputs to the FX or just directly to the outputs. It's all done in GLOBAL mode I believe.

If you still have your manual, I'd double check to ensure you can run audio in and out of your TR "AS WELL AS have the use of the TR's other functions. I have only used the audio in/out in sampling mode which disables the rest of the board.

Manual does not say anything about that...
But do you hear the sound inputed in the smpl board while not in sample mode?

Ok, I lied :) I just tested out the suggestion posed by Shaka40. Cool! It works on both input channels you can use Combi, Prog and SEQ modes while allowing audio to stream through the keyboard into whatever output you designate. The control for the signal path is in Global / Audioln. I just tested it quickly, I think you can also send the signal to the master effects simultaneously. This opens up a lot of fun possibilities for me! Thanks for the post.
