KP3 Midi Clock Sync Issue

Post by Houdini »

Hi Forumers,

I bought a KP3 a few months ago, and I'm experiencing a major issue with Midi Clock Sync. Searching the internet about it, I found out that other people had the same problem that I have, and no solution was provided by Korg at that time.

My set-up :
-MacBookPro 15,4'' + M-Audio FW1814 + Ableton Live 5.2
-KP3

As I work with Ableton Live, I need my KP3 to be set to slave (setting the KP3 as master is not interesting at all in my case). So, I make my software generate the MIDI clock and output it by the MIDI out port linked to my KP3. Then, I set my KP3 to ExtClock, so that it can receive the clock. It does receive it (if I press play on my software, ''Ext'' blinks on the KP3, meaning that it does receive the clock, and the same thing happens if I try to change the KP3's BPM while Ableton is rolling), but after a few bars, the samples played on the KP3 go out of sync with the loops running on my Ableton Live session. I have to press the ''align'' button on the machine so that everything goes in sync again, but soon, the KP3 goes out of sync again... This is very frustating, because the effects and sampling functions are great, but this problem makes the machine useless for me (as I bought it for live performance purposes), so that's a big issue!

Any thoughts?

Thank you very much for any advice you may have.

Same problem here.
I`m sending MBC from M-audio Xponent (Torq DVS) to KP3, it gets the BPM but it gets it totally wrong...

Any ideas?
