Tuning Problems with Korg Radias

Post by alienblue »

Has anyone run into a problem with the Radias going way out of tune? Whenever I do a GLOBAL change of tuning by 1/2 step, the oscillators go nuts...way out of tune on all patches. Turning the unit on and off does not fix the problem, nor does trying to reload Version 2 of the software. The only thing that seems to fix it is to let it stay turned off for 30 - 45 minutes. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas for a solution, or is this just some electronics going 'south' on me?
BTW, this is a Radias module hooked in as the 2nd module to a M3.
Thanks!

I have problems too. it is even changing sounds when I just press the keyboard. I took it to service and I will now next week. I think they should replace it with a new one anyway. I have it for two months and it had problems from day one. great sounds great instrument, just not good quality in materials.

Tuning Problems with Korg Radias

Sorry it took so long to get back on this question of mine.....busy!
Talked with a Korg technician and he had me Re-initialize the Radias. Voila! Problem solved. :D

Now I'm getting distortion on the outputs....problem appeared suddenly with no changes to anything. Seems the Radias is VERY sensitive to voltage fluxuations. Had it in the shop, they reinitialized it and all is fine. Brought it home....distortion again. Checked my voltage...120 volts, dead on. Keep trying to reinitialize it, but it seems to make no difference here. It's a great synth, but I'm starting to feel it's not very reliable.

I got mine back from the service after a month or so and they changed everything inside, they only kept the outside part... it works fine ever since but they should have a better quality control before it leaves the factory.. I hope it will be easier in your case..

Thanks AKISS for the advice. I will speak with my repair shop today about replacing the unit. I still have a few months before the warranty runs out, so now is the time! I think Korg needs to update the voltage regulation circuit in this units.

You Welcome .
Don't forget that every time you get it back from the service your warranty expands, and also the time that stays on the service also doesn't count..
