I cannot contribute anything that was not already mentioned. But for me there are three main points

1. it is the best and most convincing synthesizer I ever touched, because of its many different synthesis tools:
- Substraktive/VA
- FM
- PhM
- Vectorsynthesis
- Sampling
and all of them with

2. excellent sonic quality

3. that I discover new tools and possibilities whenever I spend time with OASYS

.. if only I had the time to dig into KARMA, as I hear that it could make things much easier, especially for live performances!

Bottem line: I really enjoy playing OASYS like I never did with any other instrument I ever touched.

Nice idea, this thread! 8)

Sorry to break the inital mentioned rule (no repeat) - but I wanna tell what I like most.

On top of my list: greates sounding music-workstation I've ever played with - literally all other workstations/synths I've played with after being spoiled by my Oasys feel more or less like "toys"

Second: Due to its huge variety of moduls (all the different synth engines, Karma together with Karma Oasys) you never get the feeling of having explored your Oasys well enough - it offers excitement for years to come!

Third: support by the community here - I don't know how it compares to other forums, but I've always got usefull hints and loads of help here - and I've made new friends - both virtual and in real life! 8)

Well -

We've been generally very good in following the thread guidlines - 3 items mentiond instead of two is OK of course - and you can of course post numerous times - just don't repeat the same feature.

So far - an amazing list of features - great to read the many perspectives - but please feel free to post numerous times if you think or other great features, especially if you think others might not focus on them, or be aware of them!!

But it was hard to find something that wasn't mentioned before and I really liked what I read so far 8)

But there is a feature I missed and I love it. It is the tone adjust in Program, Combi and Sequence Mode. Editing sounds really fast. An amazing feature, and yes Daz it would be great if....oeps, no whish list

- recording a combi to a 2 channel harddisk stereo track and using the free 16 midi tracks again with a new combi and build up complex tracks, Mike showed a great tutorial (thanks!).

And I admit, this is a great thread with the right spirit.

Something that hasn't been mentioned (unless this flu sent me blind):

Being able to route external inputs through internal effects, and then back out to individual outputs.

My current fun is coming from sequencing using backing drums w/ karma and string pads from the OASYS plus vocals and guitars from a Shure Beta58A and stereo line-in for the electric guitar, with touches of delay et al in the pipeline.

Though the last CD I mastered apparently came out with the volume really low... I suspect that's what you get for finalising it at 2am in a residential area from a room with no acoustic padding...
