Diego - Aug 2008 - [EN] Another day [IT] Un altro giorno

Post by Diego »

Hi!

Here you are my august song (it's titled "Un altro giorno", in english "Another day"): http://www.madinitaly.com/OSAM/Diego-08 ... Giorno.mp3

That's the new song from my band, we've finished recording sessions a few days ago, so it's still a premix, my parts are very loud than they should be, drums are not processed at all...BTW, it can gives a good idea of the piece.
Sorry for the mix quality, but it's not mixed at all

Very nice pop rock sound. This is the kind of pop that I like. The vocals are very good. I want to buy the cd as I love hearing Italian, it sounds a bit like Porguguese which I speak. It has a fun action in the beat. Lots of different fun parts. I'm so glad you were able to post this. Would love to hear the finished product.

At the moment other bandmates are in south Italy for a kind of competition/course, and they'll perform that song, too.
As soon they come back home (unfortunatly I couldn't go with them because I'm too much busy here to take a break from the office  ) we'll enter the studio to record another one, and then to mix both songs.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to listen and write a post.

Hi Diego,

Cool pop rock tune - interesting chords changes. I have no idea what is being said though, but I like the organization - lots to feast on.

Any chance on getting a translation?

Like It...reallll PoP indeed,

Balance not always on tight, but very good....Love the little break with the little musical sigh...

Drum trac is very nice for the style....

Don't know really enough, to help in suggestions...but the whole song is great to me!!!

Thanks a lot John!
Of course, it's still at a very premix stage, so we'll have to work a lot on balances (a lot of my keyb parts will be very very lower in volume).

Thanks,
regards

This is a fun rockin track! Glad to hear the stretch beyond "the basics". Nice arrangement which also helps us to get what is going on though we don't speak Italian.

I am not fond of the choice of "beat" during the chorus. The rest of the song rocks really hard and then it goes to a disco high hat...but that is JUST my taste and opinion, not a thing that needs to be fixed or changed.

GREAT GREAT song though!

Hi John!
Thanks a lot for taking the time to listen again the song!
I'm quite happy with it, now let's see what we will get after the final touch of a good mixing process...

Choral studies are going well, I'm going to finish the first year of the master degree, 10th october I'll have the last test, then on november I'll start lessons of the second last year.

JonSolo, thanks for your comment, it's always usefull for me to follow your words. We're trying to follow some famous pop band here in Italy, and the trend seems to be exactly this one: rocking verse, and disco chorus.
Give a listen to this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDArttap7FI

Cool track, lots of unusal changes which I like, they keep the whole track moving nicely.

Make sure you don't mix those keyboard parts too far back :)

Ahah, you're right, but as always my guitar player (like any other guitar player on the planet, I guess) will ask to pull down the volume fader of my tracks
BTW, I think I've done too much on that song, and my parts doesn't fit so well the song...will try to do better and less notes, and ask for a low volume mix for me

Thanks a lot for your comments,
