Hi,
1. -> There is a short break in the audio signal when you switch from audio (firewire) to audio/midi (firewire) and back.
2. -> Yes, if you use the firewire interface (audio, audio/midi, midi) the audio signal pass thru anyway.
The different between audio/midi and midi:
@ audio/midi - you can use the EQ of the Zero4/8 and the cue and A/B buttons... for audio. Only the send knobs (ext1, ext2 and Zero fx send) and the pan knob are midi controller
@ midi - All controllers (except the gain knob) can be use for midi action
attention: There is a software buck (v1.60) ext1, ext2 and Zero fx send are not independent per channel.
It's not possible to mix external fx equipment with software fx in one session/mix.
cheers,
Mr. Bit
