For me, song specific styles are less desirable than excellent, general, all-purpose styles. That's the beauty of an arranger, to me. I love having the versatility of playing many, many songs utilizing the built-in styles. If I wanted song specific styles, I think these might be really good. However, I don't necessarily want those songs. And, with the weak dollar, more than $10 per style is too costly for me. Especially since it can only be used for one song.

I am not knocking these efforts. In fact, I applaud them. I'm only trying to explain why some of us aren't snapping these up. Just a little feedback. I do wish the best for this project.

Tom G.

I agree with Tom. I would quess that the great majority of arranger players would prefer general styles. Lack of a large interest in Sal's song styles (even though they are excellent) would suggest this.

Sal.. if you made some general styles that I personally liked I would buy them.

I´ll agrre with that too.
Good styles in general for each kind of music 8Beat, 16Beat, all kind of Latin - but not like the most styles from factory overloaded and weak.

We need good powerful and straight styles for the best live performance the pa-series will have.

That´s my opinion for that.

hey Sal, those are excellent quality styles! i really like the "staying alive" & "kingston town" styles. i want to buy this two but i don't have floppy drive on my computer to transfer the styles to my pa1x but i will eventually purchase them. if you happen to have more reggae styles ill be happy to purchase all of them either in bundles or single styles at whatever cost. keep up the great work! thx.......

HI Johnny,

Just to point out that you dont need a floppy, just hook up the pa1x through usb and copy the style files into the hard drive of the keyboard from your PC.

in regards to generic styles, to me they're pointless. I hardly use them at all, there are few i do use of course. For me to make a generic style, i'd fell that i'll be waisting my time especially when people have expressed a massive interest in the styles I made but then dont want to purchase them simply because of money! That's what i believe anyway. Obviously i understand that people might not play the certain songs im targeting and there will be alot more to come. I've just finished "Stars" from simply red and also "Hot Stuff" From Donna Summer.

Cheers,
Sal

this is great!
Thank you Stalian, And yes It,s sounding great!
Nice balance, not overkilled whit FX and so.

Do you think you can make some new styles that can be used as DANCE music,
If so, we are glad to see what we can get from you!

Just think a painting, a Show room for the artist who made it, Whit no asking for the price, We love the Colors, and when he asked us to buy one, And we ask for the price, Than the painting is not so COLOR ful!!!
Why, couse we just want him to give it for FREE!
Thats the problem.
Give the artist some response, And you see what he can give back.
Just aplouses _NO give them more.
Thank you again for your work.

stalian87 wrote:I've arranged with Sharp a package deal on the styles.

All 16 styles can now be purchased as 1 package deal for a prices of 56 euros. That's 3.50 euros each!!

I dont think you'll ever find styles at this level, with a similar price tag! Lol

Regards,
Sal

Hi Stalian87, Sharp,

I try to purchase ALL the styles for 56 Euros, but at the time to pay I was still getting charge 112 euros.

In my opinion SongStyles are not usefull, to create a style take a day or two,
per Custom style i charge between 200-300$ for customers and when i work
for Ketron, Korg or whoever even 500$ per style.
Now, who would pay 300$ for one Style for one Single song?
And who is stupid enough to create a Style for 10$?

There is nothing stupid about it nedim. You create one style and get paid
$500 for it but thats it. No further income and no rights to your music as you will have signed it away to ketron korg or whoever. Staliano by selling his styles direct to the market can potentially develope a constant income stream from the sales of the styles. He may get only $10 per style but if he sells fifty of the same style thats $500 right there. Staliano just needs to rethink his target market and the styles that people would pay to have him create. Its a great idea and he shouldnt give up just because he didnt create the styles people wanted this time around.

If staliano were to create dance styles, soul styles , blues styles , country styles he may have more luck. Are you saying that in the whole world wide web there are no potential customers for his styles ???? You can bet your life there are but they need to know what he can do and he needs to promote himself as a style maker. Thats a whole different set of skills but it is doable. The whole Korg Arranger Secrets Project took off from just one good idea and the will to make it happen.

If you really want to be helpful to staliano and the members here that want him to succeed, rather than put him down introduce him to some of your contacts at Ketron and korg . Its a big enough pie nedim and i doubt if staliano would be moving in on your market for eastern styles.

No i am not against him or that, whatever he needs he knows where to find me,
and as you said, i will sell it only that time, sign off and thats it, done. Its not mine.
The only problem with SongStyles is not knowing what to do, i tried and thought
but i dont know where to start. Which songs, what material. Its very hard to please
people, with a 3000$ machine and 1000 styles in it they are still not satisfied.
There of course will be customers for any style you create, someone MUST like it
and need it but still deppends which way you will take. Whatever i said i wasnt
even thinking about Stalion or his work, it was just generally. Its a very big
market and even if he moved to my market still, there is a lot of fish, trust me.
There wouldnt be competitions anytime soon in this kind of work, styles or sounds,
all kinds of people always wants something from someone. Trust me, sometimes
i am shocked, most of my customers are people i never heard of, noone of them
from forums or internet that i know or they know me, its all first time callers
cuz they saw my wesite or someone gave them my number. I am always like
...i didnt know these people existed...LOL...

Two thoughts:

a) People over on the Pa2x/ Pa800 forum don't know about these styles.

b) Would Korg advertise the availability of these styles on their Pa web site?

Best regards,
Rob

As great and powerful are the works of Sal's work, Korg should hire Sal as a full time designer or a NAMM Show represenitive. Just my two cents. We need a DVD Tutorial from Sal. He has my vote. ;) ;)

Hello everyone,

I'm back after a long period of being away from the forums. Been really busy lately!!

Anyway I have a new style which is based on the song called "A Kind of Magic" from Queen.

This was quite a challenge to do, especially live, but once i got playing with it a few times it was great fun trying to emulate Bryan May on the keyboard! Lol

Have a listen and anyone who is interested in buying it let me know so I can make it available to buy.
All the sounds are from the Pa1x Pro apart from the distortion guitar which I sampled into the keyboard, the snare and the Shaker.

http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/browse/stalian/169809

Right click on the file and save as to save it on your Hard drive or you can stream it straight from the website if you just click on the file.

Happy listening,

Sal
