MR1000 USB connection
Hope I'm posting to the right place.
I can't seem to get my mr1000 to access USB. I have tried different USB cables and ports on both a pc and laptop. get a message Cypress AT2LP RC42.What does that mean? I have since installed new version of Audiogate but this hasn't helped either. Any advice please.
Thanks.

I've just purchased mine and the MR-1000 is treated more like a USB external hard disk. The MR-1000 can not read external hard disk directly.
What I did was connect the MR-1000 to a PC with Windows XP. Power up the MR-1000 and it will show up like an external hard disk on the PC. You can then copy files created on the MR-1000 to the PC. You can also copy DSD and WAV files from other source (downloaded or created with other equipments) to the MR-1000 onto the AUDIO folder.
I haven't play with Audiogate yet.

MR-1 also not connecting through USB
I too am not able to connect through my USB from my KORG MR-1 recorder to my PC (Windows OS). My problem started this past weekend. I contacted KORG support this week with no results. They kept asking me simple questions with no response to my question if they had encountered this problem before with KORG recorders. Either they have had no experience with the "NEW HARDWARE FOUND - Cypress AT2LP RC42" message or they are unable to address it. Hopefully, someone with experience can assist us in addressing this issue of KORG recorders not connecting through a USB.
I currently am unable to use my KORG MR-1 recorder because I cannot connect through my USB to my PC to edit my files.

Avatar, I only just read your post to korg forum as I do not read that often as I have not found any help to my problem on this forum and Korg have been less than enthusiastic to offer any advice. I have sent you a link to see what you can make of this. It's more than I wish to try at this stage. I have been recently considering undertaking some of the procedures in the manual: 1) System reset 2) HDD reformat 3) Try software download to see if any of these correct anything. I have only just discovered by the way that no other instructions regarding system reset are to be found in the manual !! These functions are found on the system menu but with no details about what system reset does. My feeling is if I have to send it to my local agent for repair or service I might as well try some of these procedures first. I am carefully considering which to try first. So far all correspondence with Korg USA(which is where I purchased my MR1000) have not been able to offer help and only advise me to send it to dealer for service. Below is a link should you wish to see for yourself what you make of this.

Hopefully perhaps The Korg USA product manager can offer some remedy( Re Cypress RC42... driver?)....are you reading Jerry?...getting desperate.

OK, I found out the problem.
It seems likely that your units have a blank, or erased Eeprom on the USB circuit board, and this part will need to be replaced. You cannot fix this by going through the steps in the quoted website.
You'll need to contact your local Authorized Korg Distributor, and Korg Inc. will be getting them the info/part # required to fix this.
I'm curious - where are each of you located?
Sorry for the problems.
Regards,
Jerry

Jerry,
Still waiting to get a reply from you from my private message if you received this. It concerns the USB fault on the MR1000. Perhaps its just as well to repeat my post here.
Jerry,
I am an MR1000 owner in New Zealand.
Concerning Cypress AT2LP RC42 Driver issue.
As product manager for Korg USA I have some questions.
1) Can you explain what system reset does in the menu? There are no further details in the manual.
2)Should I try reformatting the hard drive?
3)Page 50 of the manual 'Drive error' when trying to execute a 'Check Drive' command. How is this performed as I get no further options.
Can you explain how to execute a USB Check drive command?
I am reading more issues from other MR owners regarding this 'Cypress' problem with these MR recorders. I suspect mine has been failed for some time without my knowledge and I only became aware of it when I needed to transfer data to PC. My recorder still records OK.
How reliable is this HD? I am wondering even if I get this new part how long it will last until that also fails. I have followed all procedures when carrying out this USB function so I have no idea why it failed in the first place. I wonder if it was when updating system software.
Apart from losing data on my MR1000 which I have accepted is now unavoidable would trying any of the above help or do any harm?... after all it can't get much worse (Of course this is where a digital out connector would have been most useful should Korg have designed the MR with one.)
I purshased this unit from minidisco in the USA.
Any help with these issues you could offer me would be appreciated.
Thank you.
