I am a proud OASYS 88 owner since this summer and i am hearing this spring noise from several keys for some days now. But there is even a much bigger problem. I became aware of this while playing a saxophon program, where by playing at a high velocitiy level a glissando will be triggered. Unfortunately i had to realise that some keys needed much more force to trigger the sax glissando than others and it is very obvious. Did anybody else have experienced this problem with the OASYS 88 ? Please try it on your own Oasys with a program such as -USER-G, 113: "V GlisUp SopranoSax EXs3" and report it here. Thanks a lot in advance and greetings from Zuerich, Switzerland.
PS: Congratulations to your presidential election... "...yes YOU can...!!!"

Key problems and sollution
I had some spring noise from the keys to the right of the keyboard. I opened the Oasys and tightened the screws of the keyboard inside and voila: problem solved!
I hope this will help some of you

Key action noise
I have a Fatar 2001 controller replacing a Yam 88 with oil damping that was way too much and slow with bad stab....had Fatar for over 10 years. The keys make a sweaking sound when played slowly and middle keys do it a tiny bit more showing some increase in noise over the years. I have a spare keyboard bed given me to replace it but never did as new board has a few squeaky keys too. Never have greased them through because tech said it would not work and I needed a new keyboard bed. OK, there is a time to argue and a time to get a free keyboard bed. I sold about 5 of the 2001s and they all made the same noise. I will try some silicon grease and see what happens on a few keys some evening to see if it goes away. Never bothers me but Roland’s new action is sure nice and smooth, but the stab on the Fatar is much better for my playing mood. The Oasys has good action, maybe the best overall for many people in my opinion, but like the stab and speed better on cheaper feeling M3s.
Be glad when Korg saves some money manufacturing and goes to laser sensors and real non-stepped (programmable) velocity control including release velocity with poly after touch…that’s what I want. Heck make it all programmable including hardware stab and key speed. I have done some bazaar stuff with an Elka MK 76 that was ahead of the times in controllers. I was the only one that could play it, very cool delays added but needed poly after implemented modules like Roland U220. Seems like manufactures cut back on features that are needed to get the most out of time.
John^^
