emx-1 crashed! please help me out..

Post by guyus »

the problem in short:

my emx-1 just crashed all of a sudden, while i was using the arpeggiator. the screen froze, the sound stopped immediately and there was an error displayed. i tried restarting, but now i just get a blank display everytime i switch the emx on. i'm afraid it's really broken now..

i hope somebody is familiar with this kind of problem and that it can be fixed somehow. most important, i need to save all the patterns i had on the emx, (didn't save them on the media-card) thanks for some help!

If you do a factory reset (which sounds to me like your only chance) then your patterns etc will be lost forever. This may feel harsh but it's often the case that your best work will come from starting afresh- look apon what you were doing as old and what you are about to do as new and therefore something to get exited about. To reboot- p 89 in manual. (prepare by taking a few deep breaths) 1-switch off 2- hold down transpose (solo) and write buttons at the same time- keep holding them down and turn on the power. 3- The display should now read 'preload' and the play button should be blinking 4- press play. This should take about 30 secs to complete. GOOD LUCK!

if the machine turns on and there screen is backlit with no text, and there is no lights on at all then it probably means that you got a blown fuse. Search this forum it has a DIY on how to fix it.

thanks a lot for your answers. i was already hoping a blown fuse would be the case :). can that have anything to do as well with getting increasing noise from my audio output over the last few weeks? will check the dyi topic out and hope for the best. robosardine: i tried that before don't even get to the reset-screen, lets hope its the fuse..
cheers
