Hello Umair,
OS 1.60 is much better [bug free] & stable than 1.51 - you should have upgraded before. Now, you have to first upgrade to 1.60 then as Nedim says you've got to save all USERDK and SETS under OS 1.60 only then you can upgrade to OS 2.0 if at all you wish your sets to perform satisfactorily under OS 2.0

Go ahead Umair, OS 1.60 is better and further proceed to OS 2.0 - DARE it :D

Hello Sarwat,
I would say u are lucky... When I purchased the Pa800 from my dealer I got the the latest OS upgrade.... so you have a good option to get the Pa800 with latest OS and check the Sample RAM info... at the risk of the dealer / shop owner... if he is simply a machine provider then the risk is yours.... if u do not have any dealer in Pakistan why don't you get it from Mumbai [india]... Nice and genuine people... M/s Audioplus, Mumbai [India]... if you are interested I can help you in this matter....

BUT one thing is sure... with KORG... I will never purchase a machine WITHOUT WARRANTY.

Hello Michel,
I am W'really very sorry to learn that your machine has a faulty RAM... I hope Korg will look into that.... Best of Luck... I can tell you one thing... KORG has always helped me and they are very considerate people... my replaced machine had developed a serious paint disorder... KORG had replaced the complete top cover free of charge... mine was the only case in the World... phew!!!... but KORG did not leave me alone.... they HELPED me.... Thankyou all KORG and my friend Mr. Hitesh Shukla of/and M/s Audioplus, Mumbai [INDIA]

Kind regards to all...

Hi Sandeep,

Good to know that there is an authorised dealer in India but then again, it would cost a lot more if one sends, or atleast plans to do so, the board to India from Pakistan for repairs. Nevertheless, Nedim has shown his interest in moving here so whats the issue then  :) And what Sarwat said is also true that pro musicians here only prefer Korg as their machine & nothing else. I myself have used only Korg instruments since the last 12 years.

On the issue of User DK, Sandeep so far I dont have any User DK with me that had been modified out of the factory DK. The User DK that I have are only the ones that have been created by importing samples through timeslice. Do you still believe that I will first have to upgrade to OS 1.60 then to OS 2.0 ? Cuz from what I understand, therez no harm in jumping straight to OS 2.0 even if you have OS 1.50 installed on your board.

In Pakistan there are many users who use KORG keyboards/Products and not prefer Yamaha and Roland. KORG is pioneer in Pakistan and Indian music industry and lots of musicians are using only KORG Products. I think it's the need of time that KORG should establish their authorized dealership centre in Pakistan. I hope KORG would do it very soon.

Thanks & Regards
Can you tell me roughly how many musicians are using Korg in Pakistan? Are there any established Musical Instrument dealers who sells digital musical instruments atleast in big cities like karachi,Islamabad,Lahore etc. What is the source of getting Korg keyboards in Pakistan at present? How much have you paid for PA-800?

I need this information as we are in a plan to have Korg business in Pakistan.

I am from Audio Plus India who are the sole distributors of Korg in India. We can even distribute Korg in Pakistan. It will be a great help to us if you can provide me with some information.

Hi Hitesh,

Thanx for your concern and your will to arrange customer service here in Pakistan. To tell you the truth there aren't any authorised dealer for any synth brand here. There is one shop in Karachi by the name of Pakistan Electronics who deal in all sorts of keyboards, guitars, drums, amps, etc. They also have a branch in either Lahore or Islamabad as well . . .not sure. Other than this, there might be one or two shops operating in Islamabad and Lahore as well. Will try to get the details for you. In addition, there are pro individuals in the industry who import keyboards and stuff directly on their own and provide them to the high end musicians.

To tell you about my Pa800, I had it imported through this shop Pakistan Electronics one year back and was the only proud owner of a Pa800 back then. Now, having to upgrade my board with the latest OS, I need an ultimate dare to accomplish this feat with success, as I dont have any warranty AT ALL. I still get goos bums even thinking about giving birth to a fault due to the upgrade.

Hope there soon is a solution to the non-availability of Korg support services in Pakistan.

Regards,

Umair

A faulty RAM can and needs to be fixed for FREE by Korg. This is a legal consumer right which is valid over the whole world.

Warranty has NOTHING to do with it, because the FAULTY RAM was faulty when it was bought, it did not turn faulty.

Based on that, the product (PA800) was not sold how it should be and based on that you have the legal right that the problem is solved on costs of Korg.

This answer is a legal answer. Whether you can arrange it, I don't know. It depends on the possibilities that each individual has. I know that not everyone can find a lawyer or transport and miss it's Korg to be send to Italy or I don't know where.

But the answer I gave remains the same. The right is there ...

Hello Macboy,

Grey market products do not carry warranty... no company recognises that... When I was about to purchase my Pa800 I had a sweet option of getting it from grey market or pay some 20% extra for the one that carried the warranty... I bit and chewed the bullet - went for the one that carried warranty... and I got the benifit of that... all through I thanked myself for deciding in favour of warranty...

Grey market product has NO WARRANTY.... the one Umair purchased is from grey market... so no warranty.... KORG doesn't recognise any dealer in Pakistan...

... & it's crystal clear...

Hi Hitesh
It’s nice to see you here. As for your query There are lots of musicians who has been using Korg Keyboards before M1 series but we all musicians are very unlucky because we have to pay hefty amount for Korg products even without getting a single day warranty therefore people have to buy every korg series keyboard with their own risk. It happens only because there is no authorized dealer here in Pakistan but musicians prefer Korg.
Mostly Isl and Lhr musicians get their products from karachi because there are 5 musicial instrument shops here in KHI but only three shops are dealing in Korg products King Music, Hard Rock and Pak Elec. King Music owner is very honest and great guy He always prefer customer demands and gives good after sales service of small faults. He takes $$$$ and give you new box packed peace but I suspect other’s credibility.
If you guys could talk to him and make some arrangement to establish some kind of dealership in Karachi. I assure you Korg profit will be raised by opening Korg centre here. Pak Music industry has been flourishing more and more and lots of musicians demands are increasing as well. If you need any help you can contact me. I can provide you any help if you want. If you guys succeeds to make grip here. I will be the first customer of Pa800 from Pakistan. I am anxiously waiting for your reply.
