R3 Assignable knob problem, PLEASE READ
Greetings,Korg community
I own an R3 unit and absolutely adore it
I've been playing it for 3 months now and have taken really good care of it (no drops, hits or anything like that),and suddenly a problem appeared
it's about the assignable knob 2 (second from the left)
when I turn it down all the way to the lowest value, instead of going to zero,it won't go under 7-8 (one of the little green bars stays lit)
for example,I can't reduce filter resonance to zero
now, that's not such a big problem with most of the values (with the mentioned resonance, per say),but I really get pissed when I can't set 'Detune' to zero on the 'Unison' page
or when 'Osc2Semi' can't go to -24,but only to -18 (in other words,I can't get the osc2 to go 2 octaves below osc1)
I am aware that these values can be set in the editor, but for live performances it's a bummer.
so,my questions:
1)did any of you expirience this problem?
2)does anybody have any idea what might have caused this (I repeat that the keyboard has been kept perfectly safe in my home,I never dropped it/hit it)?
3)does anyone know how I can fix this?
many thanks in advance guys

If it is under warrantee, you should seek help that way....
Do not attempt to fix it yourself.
if it is just a CC controller, see if there is an initialization sequence for controllers...
set your knob all the way off along with all other controllers like footswitches and mod wheels......

there's a problem with that warranty actually
I'm from Europe, and I worked in the USA during the summer
so I bought the R3 there because it's much cheaper than back home
and warranty doesn't support units that are used in countries other from the one where it was intended to be used
but the fact that I'm using it in Europe has nothing to do with the problem I have,I take extra good care of the keyboard.
Thanks for the tip,I'll try to do something like that

So, you just answered the touring Question...
Is a R3 road worthy.....
only inside the country of purchase, otherwise the Warrantee is void???....
Regionality should have no bearing as all power conflicts should rest within the power adapter.....
Having said that, My Sister had a QS6 from Alesis , purchased in Europe, and once she used it here, the display was gone....6 years later it is the same way....
It is up to the individual to get their gear fixed, and I would try to find those words in your warrantee that exclusively say's, it only covers work in the territory it was purchased again ...

I solved my problem
it was just some kind of glitch I guess,i loaded a bank that I made a month ago through my editor software (importing global data along with the programs) and now everything's fine
here's the part of the 'Important notice to consumers' on the back ow the R3 owner's manual:
'WARNING: Use of this product in any country other than that for which is intended could be dangerous and could invalidate the manufacturer's or distributor's warranty'
I admit, they said that it 'could' and not 'will invalidate'
but still,I believe that they would try to blame any malfunction I report on me,because I didn't follow the warning

OK, I'll ask this way...what country did you claim you were intending to use your R3 in at time of purchase??...Dimitrije001 wrote:I solved my problem![]()

Was there a list of eligible territories your version of R3 was liscenced for???
and was there a Notice or list of Countries that your R3 is not intended to be used in ???
