Moving to USA

Post by agbrint »

I currently have a Triton Extreme, which i purchased in the UK. I'm hoping to move to the USA in the near future... but the voltage is different...

Other than sell they keyboard (i don't want to do this if i can help it), is there anything i can do? Can i buy a replacement PSU board for inside the unit?

Thanks in advance.

The Triton series has an internationl PSU built in with auto switchover. I believe KOrg introduced this on the TRINITY keyboards. I myself bought a TS from USA and it worked fine here in the UK.

If still unsure contact Korg support and get their advice.

GOOD LUCK :D

Don't sell it, this is common, and Korg can help.
Good luck.

The Triton Extreme does indeed have an universal PSU.
So no need to do anything with it other than cut the plug off the end that connects to the wall socket and fit an american style one on it.

Hi All

Just to confirm, the TEx will work in the USA if bought in the UK. There is a switch mode power supply in them.

Sina, I believe that the laws for electronic current consumption in certain countries dictate what has to be written on the back of an item like this which expliains why yours has 110 on it.

Hello,

The trinity and triton series have all an unversal power supply, even if it shows 110 or 220 V.

Trust us ;)

Why you guys (particularly you Iheagle) keep on confusing people?

It is confirmed that there is no need for Transformers/Converters and stuff.
The keyboard will identify the power network (mains power) in terms of Voltage and Frequency and will automatically adjust its PSU.

The only thing you need is to buy a simple 1 USD or 1 EURO value 3-pin (Live, Neutral, Earth) power cable to match the plug to socket. That simple!!
