Step Sequencer Question
I was wondering if any of you Radias owners, who might also have an Electribe, could tell me if the step sequencers in the Radias work the same way as in the Electribes. I have never been able to get my hands on a Radias, so I need your input.
the step sequencers are polyphonic, unlike in an electribe (as far as i'm aware).
each step stores up to 8 notes, and a pattern can be up to 32 steps (64 if you want to link the two together).
furthermore, you can set velocity and gate time for each step. setting gate time to 'tie' will cause any common notes to carry on into the next step without retriggering.
you can also mute and unmute steps using the 16 buttons, or in the edit page.
there are two step sequencers, or you can link them to one.
really, I think they have more in common with the radias,ms2000,etc arpeggiator (on radias, you can also set gate time, velocity, per step too).
also, there is no pattern mode. this is what the radias is really lacking. you have to keep the patterns throught the whole patch. changing patch, or turning off or on the step sequencers or arpeggiator will stop the sound. however, you can change the pattern data whilst the unit is playing, so i imagine the MIDI data for the patterns could be dumped from a sequencer or other device when you want to change pattern.
