Low sound volume of samples in OS 2.01
Hi Guys,
After upgrading to OS 2.01 i have noticed that some of the factory sounds are lower in volume compared to the same factory sounds on OS 1.11. This is mostly heard in the organ tab. These sounds are louder on the previous OS and lower with the new OS. It is not related to my amplifier but something with OS 2.01. I don't think it is a velocity problem.
To further support my observations, the songs i recorded with OS 1.11 when played with the current OS are lower and weaker in volume as compared to the original state. These songs only use 1 organ no other instruments.
In order to acheive the "loudness" of these sounds as they were in OS 1.11, i would have to raise the master volume by 2-3 bars.
Does anyone have any answers or had any of these experiences?

Hi MrKorg,
I am going on past information here because my Pa2x is still at the repair center as you know.
I believe that Korg responded to comments from the forum in the past that sound volume levels were not "balanced" in the sense that some sounds were much louder than others. I believe that they attempted in OS2 / MR2 to balance the sounds better which means that one or two are now slightly quieter than they were before.
You can use Performance edit mode to change the volume of sounds in performances.
You can go into sound edit mode and change the volume of factory sounds if you wish.
Best regards,
Rob

Also, you should check the Master EQ (in Global: Audio Setup) as well as individual track EQs (STYLE PLAY: Mixer/Tuning EQ...).mrkorg wrote:I personaly like the sounds loud, that way you don't have to push the master volume very high. i'll do the editing.

And thates exactly what you have to do to get the best out of the machine, mrkorg wrote:that way you don't have to push the master volume very high.
the worst mistake peple do is keep the volume on half or lower and actually push the Gain on the mixer up...VERY WRONG!!!

Once again Nedim knows his business. This is so right. I personally found that my extreme, pa2x and even the pa1x(rear outputs, not onboard speakers) i used to have, sound very dull if the master volume isnt up all the way, and i simply turned it up on the mixer. Thats why i turn them all the way up and adjust volume, EQ on the mixer.BasariStudios wrote:And thates exactly what you have to do to get the best out of the machine, mrkorg wrote:that way you don't have to push the master volume very high.
