what happens to the styles when moved???

Post by kory »

Dear Forum;

Every time I move the styles from the user bank to the favorite banks, some of the styles start sounding different and unpleasant. it looks like the drum and precusions change on me. By moving I mean i go to record style mode, give it a new name for my reference, and save it in the new location. when I load a new set to the user, the styles I had saved to the favorite previously start acting up. Any help is welcome. Kory

If those styles use user sounds and/or drum kits when you load other users they replace those user sounds and DK so that could be the problem.

thank you nikola81. If I load new styles instead of new sets, would that still earaise the existing user data? Is there a way to make use of all favorite banks and user banks without messing anything up? I am not a pro but do pro's just load what they need off the usb during their gig? This keyboard is too complicated. Pa-80 was good because you could play the styles right off the floppy. But once I get it going, I love it. thanks again Kory

Well i don't know about the pro's but i don't use loading from usb on the gigs and i work five nights in a week, everything i need is in the keyboard. What you need is topic combining sets, there are lot of threads about that on this forum. It's not easy, there are lot of parameters but it can be done. Basically you need to have one whole set you use and from other sets just load user styles and single user programs and DK that are used by that style. You have to be careful not to overwrite your own data and to assign those sounds properly. Check the combining sets threads for further info.

Hi Kory. There is software called pa file Viewer created by Michael Barry. I have it installed and it gives you information about what is in a Styles set, pads and performance. But, Only information. It is a very useful tool but you can't change anything. That has to be done on the keyboard. The upshot of it is that it saves you constantly loading sets blind. I like the program and find it very useful to review downloaded and my own sets.... :D

Sorry I can't remember where I downloaded it :(

Hi Kory
I'm not sure if it would make much difference but, why do you go to record mode then save the style somewhere else. If they are from the same set, load the styles you want to move by using the Load function in media, from user to, wherever you want it to go.

Reason i'm saying this is. I remember ( i could be wrong), a while ago somebody saying that, once you go into record mode to edit an existing style. Some of the parameters are automatically defaulted for that style. Which may or may not be the cause of your issues. Worth a try though.

Thanks

PA Librarian and utility Software - Official website address

Post by Mickb »

Hi All
I would not recommend using the rapidshare link. it contains old versions and a snapshot of my old website.

For the latest version of PAL file viewer (v0.4.1) as well as XRM for the PA1x/Pa2x and PRM for the PA50/60/80 always use this website http://www.palibrarian.net
there is also a support forum and it will also have some HOWTOS for PA series keyboards.

Rob, sorry for not being in touch I will email you later today
Regards

Mickb: I recently send you a PM inquiring about the status of your effort for combining sets software after I didn't heard back from Rob. Is there any future plan to revive this project?
