Upset with unsuccesful install
hello
I hope someone from Korg reads this message. I've done everything I was told to get my Legacy working on my iMaC; bought the KLC-1 v1.2 upgrade AND a syncrosoft dongle, installed and everything, but still it doesn't work on my Mac. What am I gonna do?

Re: Upset with unsuccesful install
Hi Fevre, I had sort of the same experience on my iMac, I just hadn't looked in the right place for the software. I felt really stupid!
What I'd done was to install both of my versions KLC v1.1 and v1.2, which I didn't need to do. I was opening the wrong version, v1.1, I should've opened v1.2, I then needed a USB Hub which allowed me to connect all of my stuff to my iMac and when my Syncrosoft dongle was attached everything was ok, thank god! I still felt really stupid!!!
I don't know if this'll help Fevre, but just to let you know you're not alone.

No
It still doesn't work. I believe I install the synchrosoft license, where it says I can't use it cause it needs a newer version than Panther (I run 10.5.6). And then I install the vs. 1.2. and rebbot the system. Should I not be able to see it where I pick sounds for a channel or is there more to be done beforehand?

damn, the same problem!
Hi Fevre,
I've got exactly the same problem as you with a macbook pro. Have you found a solution?
It's driving me nuts!

Silly question I know, but, have you downloaded the newest license from Syncrosoft?

problem solved!
I found the problem: I installed a previous version of the Legacy Collection. I am sure that's your mistake as well. Please do the following: Run the de-installer and uninstall any previous versions. If you installed (like me) the CD-Rom version 1.00 you have to delete everything by hand: make sure there are no more korg files in the VST folder nor the application support folder in the library nor in the programmes folder. Just delete all of these files. Then run the 1.2.2 installer again and it should work out.
let me know whether this works for you!

Re:Problem Solved
I will do the same as you Christop, uninstall previous version of the KLC software and re-install the KLC v1.2.2.
I have been using it with both versions installed! Obviously using the KLC v1.2 version, why it's working I don't know, but there you go eh.
I'm glad you solved your problem
I just hope this'll solve Fevre's problem, any luck Fevre?

.component not found
I'm having the same problem on the MacBook Pro. Got Legacy Cell Collection with MS-20 yesterday and installed it up to 1.1.10 with no problems. I couldn't afford a MS-20 as a teen and...(disappears off into nostalgic diatribe...)
I have the Arturia Collection with key and after visiting Korguser.net now have the latest Synchrosoft licence software and key for 1.2.2. Downloaded the installer, uninstalled previous versions, hope I got everything, and you know what's coming.
On installing 1.2.2 when it got to the section where Korg tries to install the Licence Software, it tells me that I need to update my operating system to at least Panther. Well, I'm running 10.5.6 and the latest Licence software so that appears to be a bug.
And now to the main problem. When I try to start any of the stand-alone versions I get a message which says ".component not found". Thanks to Mike from Korg Support yesterday for his help but unable to shed any light today.
So, after uninstalling and reinstalling several times, trying the USB key in the hub and computer ports, I'm still no further forward. I need help. My thoughts are as follows:
1. I'm installing 1.2.2 yet the key says I have a licence for 1.2. Maybe one does for the other.
2. There's a residual component left from a previous install. Does anyone know how/where to find these specifically? (Since switching to the mac it's never crashed nor have I had the need to start searching in system folders so my in-depth knowledge of the Library folder is limited)
3. The original collection was placed in a Korg folder. 1.2.2 places it in Korg>Korg Legacy>. Maybe there's a line of code pointing to the wrong folder.
Guys, it looks like I'm not the only one with this problem and am hoping it's merely a case of deleting a redundant file. I've done everything I know from following the user.net instructions to telephoning korg support. Please help.
All the best

OK, good news but no ultimate solution yet. If you remember I have a MacBook Pro that wasn't running Legacy with "component not found" message.
We have an iMac as well in the house with 10.5.6 so I installed 1.2.2 with no Syncrosoft software already on board. The Korg installer threw up the usual Syncrosoft message about Panther...yaddah yaddah, installed the Korg stuff then asked me to restart. Tried to open stand-alone and got told off for not having a licence. Plugged in my USB key and tried again and got told that the Synsoacc.bundle couldn't be found in the Application Support folder, and then that I had no valid licences.
So, I run the latest 5.4.10.8 from Syncrosoft, run the Licence Control Centre and it works on the iMac. WHOOOPEEEEE! So, to answer my own questions:
1. Yes it does - not the problem.
2. This looks like the problem. Still need help with this one please.
3. Unlikely, but might be to do with Q2.
I'll keep you posted.

PS. No, I'm not moving the iMac to the music room...

Done It!
I did 2 things to rectify the problem, but wish I'd made pencil notes because I raced ahead. After downloading the 1.2.2 I used the enclosed uninstall software as instructed. The problem is that it doesn't remove everything, as suspected. After running it, I still had to delve into that Library thingy on the mac. I navigated to (and I hope I remember this correctly):
Library>Audio>Plug-Ins>Components
and, lo and behold, there were still components relating to the old installation. You may need to check both the root and the user library folders, as I'm not sure how they relate to one another.
So I guess the bottom line is follow Korg's advice and uninstall the old version's that you have, with the added advice that their programme doesn't remove everything so you need to get in there and remove bits yourself.
Well, it's been a pleasant afternoon, I'm off to play with my toy.

I am still fighting against the .component not found message...I dont have any files in the component folder....never did, since klc-1. I have deleted all previous versions files, and installed v1.2.2, as well as latest syncrosoft stuff, and inserted the code supplied from korg when when I bought the $15 v1.2 upgrade. Everything seems correct, but when launching I got that disappointing .component not found message....
anymore suggestions?
anymore suggestions?
There are 2 places where the component files were kept. When you use the latest uninstaller, it removes them from the new but not the old location. I wish I could help further but the only way would be to install the old system and I'm loathe to do that as it's all working now.
Uninstall with the new installer, then go hunting for the old component files. Try both the root and user libraries, and delete the old application file as well as it was in a different location. It worked for me.
All the best,
