My reasons for posting this here are simple, my setup is pretty much reliant on korg gear, and secondly part of the agreement of using farmpad is that it's tuneware, (you gotta share stuff you create using it) besides i love it here so enjoy!
Having spent the last couple of months rebuilding my console i've had time to reflect back on some of my old mixes and cast a critical ear over them, whilst having never been prolific at turning out mixes imho they've been of a standard i'm quite proud of. My last mix was my opus of old hardcore tunes and took ages to warp and plan and remains as my favourite purely on the tunes basis, comparing this with my other mixes it seemed that i was just looking to fill a CD without much attachment to the tunes i was playing, above all the focus was getting the mix right.....
This made me think about what style of music i wanted to play and above all i found that i was too caught up in getting the latest track and forgetting about something if it was a month or two old......
So times are changing, shorter mixes, tunes i believe in, if it mixes great, but i'm not gonna spend an hour re-editing a tune just to make it fit! Back to the old skool of spending a week driving listening to the unmixed tracks i'm auditioning and then with that knowledge getting the mix down in an hour, no loops set up at the start so i'm using the new set-ups i've got going in bomes and my Xone 1ds to let me some traktor style stuff.....
