Sweet, can't wait to see what's he's been cooking up.
KORG have been very lucky to secure the exclusive tie to their products, and I sincerely hope the realise that. If Stephen ever broke away and released his own Synth Engine powered by KARMA, it would be HUGE for him... but a loss to KORG Inc.

Regards.

Great news!

Indeed, mr Kay is an extremely talented software developer and musician, and his KARMA is such a great extension of the powerful Oasys. Can't imagine the Oasys without it!!

But I wonder if the news relate to the Oasys, I get the feeling it doesn't..

Oh well, we'll know soon enough.

Regardless if this release has to do with the OASYS or not (and I have the same feeling you´ve got) this release from Karma Lab and Stephen are very good news and it is very welcomed.

It will be interesting, as everything Stephen is involved with. :D

Personallly, I´m happy to know Karma Lab keeps growing and expands its releases and developments.
Regards.

That might have been my post over at KLF ...

Thursday will reveal all :-)

Aside from all of this, I believe that KARMA on the Oasys is now behind the M3, is that right ? Hopefully an upcoming update will address that.

Oh and Karma is coming to the M50, not news, but exciting for some folks with M50s !

KARMA Version 2.2 Takes Off

M3 XPanded users can now take more control of the KARMATM features. KARMA Version 2.2 adds new and musically useful features such as quantizing the timing of scene changes and module triggering. For the first time, you can switch GEs (Generated Effects) in realtime as KARMA is playing, with seamless transitions. Support for User GEs allows new Generated Effects to be loaded into the M3 XPanded, and users who purchase the KARMA M3* software (Mac or Windows) can edit and create their own Generated Effects on their computers, and store them in the M3 XPanded. Eight banks of 128 GE locations (1,024 total) are available.

Hmpf  - I missed this info - thanx.
To be honest: I think the Oasys users deserve to be at least on the same level as the M3. Actually we should be ahead. I sincerly hope Korg will deliver the same standard for the Oasys as it does for the M3 - no matter if it's Karma, the sequencer or anything else.

Looking at the table Stephen kindly provided in that link to KLF, it doesn't look like we're missing a lot KARMA'wise.

Hopefully tomorrow (NAMM '09) will bring good news regarding the Oasys :-)

My guess is an Oasys variant, maybe more affordable or even software based (!), and it's improvements will trickle down to Oasys Classic owners.

27 hours to go :-)
