Kurzweil into Triton

Post by Corger »

Hello Korg users,

I'm writing because I've found a lot of nice sampled sounds from a lot of great keyboards online, apart from the greatest: Kurzweil K2000. The main thing is that Legendary K2000 Piano (Used by Robert Miles) I'd want to get. I'm asking you all, please - If you have a proper sampled version or you can record in perfect quality, please let me know! (Digital 24 bit would be the best, but not necessary) I have a very bad sampled, noisy version that is less than 1Mb. Not really useful...

Samples can be even 2-3 sec long, as many samples per octave as possible. 2-3 or MORE would be appreciated, size doesn't matter - just make it sound perfect!

It's impossible to get an old keyboard like that, and I'd not wanna buy it only for it's piano sound :-)

Thank you in advance,
Corger

I'm curiosity as to where you heard he used a Kurzweil.
I thought I read somewhere it was a KORG Trinity.

:?: What has that got do with Robert Miles Piano ?.

ksounds sells new original Libraries of Sampled Pianos, not sounds cloned from keyboards.

K2000

Post by Corger »

Greetings,

Sharp: He used the K2000 to record the song 'Children' from Dreamland. If you check youtube, you'll hear the original K2000 piano preset and some typical K2000 effects in it ;)

lazerfist: Thank you for the link, but these are not samples FROM the k2000. These are other piano samples that can be loaded in kurzweil format, FOR the K2000. But I'm looking for a resampled version of the k2000 piano preset.

It is a very unique, legendary piano sound ... Also, every sound is amazing on it, but In europe, Kurzweils are not so 'popular' :-/

Thanks,
Corger

Hi Corger.

I wouldn't know the sound of a Kurzweil to be able to hear what your hearing in any of the You Tube clips. I did have a listen to 2 different videos last night to see if I could do some keyboard spotting in them and there's nothing there to go on either.

That said, if you don't get the samples your looking for, have you tried to recreate this on your Triton. All he's using is a Stereo BPM Delay on the piano. I'm sure you could get very close to what your looking for with very little effort.

Hope that helps.
Regards.

K2000

Post by Corger »

Hi Sharp,

I've heard the standard K2000 Piano tone in other songs from 'Miles either. The most famous is 'Children, but not the only one with that piano. I've created a few programs, but sadly: Delay and Reverb won't make the sound (Wave) so different. The standard piano and the 16Mb is sound totally different, more like modern grand pianos (I know my TS and believe me, I've tried everything :-))

The K2000's Piano is more like an old 'clicking' plastic-piano. It's very unique, you just have to listen to it more times in different songs. If you allow me, I'll send you some links in a PM.

With other, distorted synth sounds or pads you can figure out everything with effects. But not a clean piano ... it must be in the wave.

I wrote here because I own a Korg TS, and I thought to try to find somebody that has a kurzweilk2000, and could resample it. I think a lot of people would appreciate a well-recorded sample-set of that legendary Piano sound, it wouldn't be for me only...

Thanks for the replies,
Corger
