MicroKontrol - What's so great about it?

Post by fando »

Why is this kontroler so popular? People saying about: stiff pads, poor keyboard, cheap sliders but still seems to be in to it. After all those downs is it still one of the best kontrolers in its class? If yes why? It can't be just sexy look!

I was cosidering buying one but I am confused. Users listing all flaws and then saying 'overall is great'?

As a one unit all in the box controller it's fantastic, as the workhouse for a studio it does have it's flaws, the keys being small don't give it the most expressive feeling.....

However if you want to see hwat it can be capable of, search Google for Grimonium... I'm working through getting it set up with live to have the Microkontrol control all of my dummy clips.... Revolutionary is not the word!

Cheers

Maybe it would be more accurate to say 'As an idea all in the box controler it's fantastic' :)
Anyway, Grimonium - interesting piont. But I will likely end up with Edirol PCR300 - more 'modest' than microkontrol but reliable. Thank you for your input.
Anyone, other remarks?
