The BOOTUP TIME OF THE PA2Xpro

Post by ROBOKEYS »

I was pretty amazed to find out that my pa1xpro which I have sitting next to my pa2xpro is a few seconds faster at booting up.
I would think that the pa2xpro would be faster! All & all I,m having a
good time now that I have transferred most of my styles and my songbook
to the pa2xpro. At first my value wheel was not working while I was in songbook mode trying to scroll through my songs on the pa2x pro.
All of a sudden it started working. Is their a setting that turns the value wheel on and off? :?

I don't know if you're working with samples but i think pa2x with full Ram needs about two minutes to boot and load all samples, while pa1x would need around 10 minutes just for 32 Mb of samples to load.
Maybe Pa1x has faster boot but pa2x has more resources to load. Compare only size of SSD memory, pa1x i think has 16 Mb and Pa2x has 256Mb. A big difference.

Bootup time

Post by ROBOKEYS »

Hello Nikola81
I thought that might be the reason for the slow boot up. No I,m just using the factory styles and some korg styles from some giga style collection cd that I bought off e-bay. I have not used the sampler. I enjoy tweaking the styles and changing the instruments on all 4 sts and changing the accompany instrument to and try to make the style sound more like the cover tune that I,m trying to sound like.

You've probably noticed that computers take longer to boot up now, too, in spite of their greater power. The systems become more complex, so....

In comparison, my Atari used to boot up in less than 30 seconds, and I'm still amazed at my Korg T1 [c.1990], which is ready to strike a note in about 5 seconds!

PA80 was 2 seconds.
PA800 is 70 seconds.
