Ok, I think im starting to figure this all out here...
so, im going to buy a USB MIDI interface cable soon. I downloaded sound patches for the korg, and just downloaded MIDI-OX.
My question is, can i somehow listen to the different effects/sounds on the computer before i transfer them to the key board, using MIDI-OX or any other programs like windows media player?

Probably not...
I don't own an M1, but I know it has no sampling etc...
when you download 'patches', they are merely settings that the M1 will use to make sounds... now your computer doesn't have an M1 in it (unless you have the legacy collection!), so it can't reproduce sounds from the settings in the file (merely a series of numbers like which sample to use, what volume to play it at, etc)
