I always seem to have some type of problem when using my M3. I quite turning it on for the longest time because it there was always an issue that frustrated me to no end. Well since I did not turn it on for a while I forgot how many issues I seem to have with it.
So today I turned i back on......opened up Ableton Live 7.....selected a sound on the M3.....wrote in a little 2 measure loop with two midi notes alternating....press play....ahh....the two notes of the two measure loop are triggering the M3 sound....wait....what just happened?!!! one of the notes did not play while looping ....it loops again and now it is playing again... now one of the two notes seems to drop out every few times it loops.....wtf?!!!
So I experiment to figure out weather it is Ableton (which isn't flawless itself) or the M3. Well, I route the midi out to a few other keyboards and seems to work fine at controlling them. So I go to the M3 and try chin the sync to external via usb to intern, turn local control on and off a few times, etc etc. So, I stop that loop from playing but keep Ableton's sequencer going with the drum pattern and just play the same two note pattern on the M3 manually. Thats odd!!!!!!! When I play this simple pattern manually a note still seems to get dropped every once and a while....even when I have the M3's clock set to internal. I try a few different patches and I get the same result. I stop the Ableton sequencer and play the simple two not part and there are NO dropped notes.
Can anyone help explain to me what is happening here? Or help me deduce the issue by trial and error?
I use the M3 as a midi sound generator...that is it....so if it cant work properly with midi than I might as well scrap the damn thing....NO MATER HOW NICE IT SOUNDS!!!!! (Thank you for letting me vent)
Now, can anyone help? Thank you in advance for your input!

I think I just found the culprit. The firewire midi port. I did not scroll all the way down on my settings to see that clock was being sent out by both the usb and the firewire midi ports. i am not sure why that would effect the triggering of notes. I have not been able to replicate the issue since I switched off the firewire port.
Thank you for your inquiry though.
