M3 and RME Confusion

Post by laughing_bear »

I did not know where else to post it, so I ditched dit here

I am hoping that some experienced RME user can shed sone light in my confusion.

I installed a multiface 2 and connected my M3 to analog 1+2. To test that I took the Analog out 1+2 and connected them to my JBL's, started the HDSP Mixer matrix and routed the input from 1+2 to the Output 1+2, and yeah, I got sound.

What strikes me is how to set appropriate levels within the HDSP mixer. What I mean is, I can see overloads although I do not hear distortion at all from the JBL's, let aside digicheck 5.0, to avoid the Overload, I would need to set the input ridiculously low.

I am sure I misundertand, lack of knowledge of RME, and probably approach that wrong.

If you could tell me with what strategy you set the input and output levels of your HDSP Mixer, this would probably help me already.

Very confusing at a glance in deed.

Thanks for looking at it!
