Search the forum, and you will find several threads about this. As far as I know, the issue was never resolved.
My Extreme 61 w/MOSS and 96MB has the issue, but only affect a few ROM sounds. Nothing that gets in the way. It seems that the issue affects different units worse than others, and your is sadly on the WORST end of the spectrum...

thank you for your respond, actually, i still have a lot of sounds that have no static ( they come from expansion boards build in)but about 90% combination banks damaged , i bought the Korg new on 2005 and never have had any issues with it until i decided to upgrade RAM in order to buy some piano sample from K sounds, but i am completly disappointed .
does the RAM meet Korg requirements ? http://www.korgnorthwest.com/Triton_RAM.htm
The gold RAM worked out for me.
But the fact that third party RAM affected your ROM permanently is something hard to belive. The RAM must have been defective (OK, it would be nice if Korg could say something on this). Try hard reset by removing for a period of time the battery from MB. Also try to reload the operating system (although may not help since ROM content is not provided within OS binaries). Is the problem present when no RAM is installed?
Good luck,
Krzysiek

first i bought RAM from e bay store named EVERYMEMORYUPGRAGE, aand the issue happened, second i ordered Gold RAM from FOURNIERSEAN in a hope to save the Korg but it was too late.i also tried to load the operating sysytem 1.05 and did not solve the problem, in my opion , my Rom board is now damaged . have you ever experienced such a problem?
That's extra disturbing if the artifacts remain after the RAM is taken out...
Did you read this thread? There were several others, but they seem to have vanished mysteriously.
