Volume of TRACKS problem - pa800

Post by chandan »

Hi,

I have a user style, I coppied bass and Acc's from another style of Korg own built-in. I adjusted the volumes as required and then savedit as "Write Current style performance"

I made another user style and again coppied bass and chords as above, I adjust a different volume setting with this styles.

But when I choose the 1st user style, the volume setting are the one I done for the last user style I made, I dont get the volume settings back which I had done for that particular style and saved as well with that style.

:-(

and now if I choose even any pre-installed style from any section of pa800, it gives me the same volume settings which I done for my last user style.

Strange !!! isnt it?

Please help.

Thanks

Hi chandan,

What you've done seems correct to me and I can't see why it's not working as expected. I assume the user style was selected all the time you are doing the edits and the "Write Current Style Performance".

If the factory style was selected at the time and factory style changes are protected by defalt, then using "Write Current Style Performance" would not alter the factory style.

As to the question of why your volume change edits to style accompaniment tracks appear to be applying to all styles, I cannot explain that unless you are referring to the volume of UPPER1, 2, 3 and LOWER which can be locked from changes and you can then use Performance settings for those tracks (the right hand set of buttons on the keyboard).

Best regards,
Rob

Thanks again,

I have done my own volume level settings only for a particular one user style, I saved it as Current styles performance, now when i choose any other style, it seems it has saved my setting for all pa800 styles and user styles too, because of these settings all chords sound aw-ful why it doesnt call volume settings of each style individually?

i am confused

Hi Chandan,

In Preferences: Style Play Setup, can you check to see whether "Upper Volume Link" is ON, and if so change it to OFF and then do a "Write Global - Style Setup" from the drop down list.

Just to say that on my Pa2x it works as expected, Styles recall their own individual volume settings for each track. Can you make sure (in Style Play mode) that the "Single Touch" LED is turned ON and unblinking, and then try doing some style changes again?

I am a bit mystified what else can cause all style track volume changes to be locked. I will check the other lock parameters for you in a minute.

Rob

Did you mean I need to turn off (uncheck) "Original Style Sound" which I can see on the right top corner of the screen in style play?

Found it ..

Go to GLOBAL -> General Controls -> Lock, mke sure Style Tracks Volume is UNLOCKED (ie open padlock) then do "Write Global - Global Setup" from the drop down menu.

That should fix it!!

You only have to turn that parameter off if you are changing the sound assigned to one or more style tracks. Otherwise the new sounds you selected will not be saved when you do a "Write Style Performance".

In your case it is a track volume problem which I think will be fixed by unlocking the Style Tracks Volume lock parameter which for some reason has been locked on your keyboard.

Yes, Single Touch" LED is turned ON .

When I change from one style to another, I have noticed, that volume levels goes to its individual original levels but suddenly and quickly al levels come back to the one I adjusted last time for a user style, it happens so quick even before it produces any sound, so the problem is still there.
