I'm about half way through programming all the patches myself and will try to make the bank available when I'm done.
Most of the settings should match the R3. The actual values won't always match the R3 so you either need to approximate or go through the calibration section at the end of the book.
A few things:
PW = Pulse/Square wave.
Set the filter in the filter section then use Envelope 1 (EG1) for the corresponding ADSR.
Amplifier ADSR is Envelope 2 (EG2).
After setting the LFO value, use one of the six patches to assign the LFO to whatever setting is listed under "Routing."
Osc 2 Track: You can't turn it off. But someone helpfully pointed out you can assign keyboard tracking to Pitch on one of the patches set to a value of -48.
Everything else should be easily matched to the R3's settings. If it's not obvious, read the R3 manual, that will tell you what each setting is and you should be able to correlate without too much trouble.

Also, as far as I can tell, you can only change the pulse width of Oscillator 1 on the R3. Many of the sounds require modifying the pulse width of both Oscillators. I don't know how to get around this on the R3.
Does anyone out there know how to modulate the pulse width of two oscillators? Maybe use the layer option and the first oscillator in both patches. If that works, I may go back and change many of the patches.

someone suggested in the tips/tricks that if you set osc2 to sync and vary the pitch right it sounds a bit like PWM.
other than that, I would suggest using two timbres... or maybe just using a static pulse or saw wave for OSC2, and vary the pitch. if it is at an octave then ring mod may help to make some motion in the sound too.

Re: Welsh's
one trick I would try is put the name of the synth in the title of your new topic....marcg56 wrote:can anyone tell me how to program the cookbook patches,ie which knobs,setting,do you uses on the r3. Tune ,ADSR ,etc

well, the parameter ranges are the same on both synths - in most cases. e.g. the filter covers the same frequency range, etc. which I believe is what he's after. unfortunately I don't have any more information right now - although I would like to know some of these myself. e.g. how the EG time relates to seconds, range of the filter, etc.
