Hey i just got the Korg R3 a couple days ago and i noticed sometimes when i play i get a crackling noise every now and then, it comes out a lot on the Motion patches but happens with almost every patch.
It's kind of a reverb pop. I thought it was the amp i was using at first but then i plugged it into my computer, headphones and even a different, nicer amp, even with 3 different cables and still get the popping noise.
Anyone have any idea what this is and/or how to fix it? It kinda takes away from the atmosphere of a motion patch when every now and then you hear a nasty popping noise
It could be due to your tempo changing. Some of the earlier models of R3 have a problem where the tempo wobbles a bit. It can definitely cause some weird sounds when it drifts between values. If you watch your screen you can see if the tempo changes when you hear the pops.
You can do some more searching of these forums for more information about the tempo problem and how to resolve it.
I've also noticed that both the R3 and Radias' amps run quite hot. do you still get this when you turn down the volume on the synth (master volume, not the patch or osc mixer volume).
otherwise i'd be tempted to say its the tempo issue too.
it is possible to overload the input of for example reverb, delay etc effects but I don't think that should be happening in the presets.

It could possibly be a bad DSP chip as well... test out what others have mentioned and if you still have no luck I'd consider speaking to a Product Support representative from the Distributor in your country.
unfortunately it still does it even when i turn the master volume down. How do i fix the tempo issue? I searched the forums and couldn't find any solutions for the tempo issue, can anyone throw a link up to that thread? I work at Best Buy and I bought it at a Best Buy music store with my employee discount in California but i live in Utah where there is no BB music store in our district so i can't talk to anyone that way, i might have to go to the nearest guitar center or somewhere else.
