Kurzweil PC3 or Roland Fantom G7??
I would like your opinion about Kurzweil PC3 and Roland Fantom G7?
What's the best between those 2 keyboards and which one would you prefer?
I am close to buy one of these 2 but, I haven't try any, yet!
Regards,
Dimitris

There have been issues with the Fantom G. There are also many people unhappy with the Fantom G for a variety of reasons. What makes these complaints so credible is that they are coming from former Fantom G owners and current fantom X owners. In the words of a former owner from the roland clan forums, "Once I got past the flash and glamour of the fantom G, it was all downhill from there. It looks good but once you start to look under the hood, you see the smoke and mirrors." I agree that you should open up to more options by including the Yamaha Motif XS and Korg M3. Try as many as you can and get what's best for you.
And there was this one time at band camp......

I have a PC 3 now, had a G 7 for some time.Even have had a Yamaha XS 7.
Good. PC 3 the masterkeyboardfunktions. The controller are the best
G 7. The sampler. keybed.
XS. Sounds..Masterkeyboardfunktions.Arpeggiato
Bad. Pc 3 To make sounds. no sampler. Arp.
G 7 Masterk.funktions useless. It is not a KB. to play live on.
only for studiowork.
XS. Only four sounds in a performance, You cant use the sounds
from an other kb.
Sorry for the poor spelling..from Sweden
Note that I only play live no sq. no midifiles, you could say I am
playing music. Not a karaokeyplayer.

what about arp? maybe it is difficult to program like every kurzweil but... I quote from kurzweil websiteTryggve wrote:...

The PC3X sports sixteen (yes, 16!) independent, fully programmable arpeggiators featuring 48-step programmable, pattern generators with both pitch and velocity controls - per zone (allowing for up to 16 patterns to playback simultaneously). These are accompanied by a thorough collection of modes, scales and pre-programmed patterns to get your juices flowing.
If that wasn't enough, the PC3 offers sixteen unique "Riff" generators, which permit the triggering of MIDI sequenced phrases, beats, or even complete multi-track arrangments from notes on the keyboard and/or any on-board physical controller.
isn't this enough!?
Regards, Lorenzo
I'd love to check that out, but none of our local music stores carry Kurzweil any more.Lorenzo wrote:If that wasn't enough, the PC3 offers sixteen unique "Riff" generators, which permit the triggering of MIDI sequenced phrases, beats, or even complete multi-track arrangments from notes on the keyboard and/or any on-board physical controller.
