Dead Keyboard

Post by Tronman »

Yesterday, I turned on my M3 and it produced no sound via the keyboard. I shut it off for a couple of hours, turned it back on and it worked fine. After about 15 minutes of playing, the keyboard stopped working again. The pads work though. The connection to the module seems OK, but I really don't want to go poking around inside of it. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I actually did have that problem a few months ago. And it was a problem with the connection between the module and the keybed. THe connection to my module was a little "loose" even when I pushed it in all the way (I take the module out quite often) and it ended up being a problem with the cord. Luckily, Korg Supplies us with an extra one (if you want to plug in the radias later) So I just swapped them out, turned it back on and it was fine.

Hope this helps. If not, try a reset. But save all your user programs and Combis first.

good luck!

Thanks. I had a feeling that the cable was the problem since it didn't plug in very easily when I completed installation of my EXB-RADIAS. Unfortunately, my M3 didn't come with an extra cable, so I have to wait for one to be delivered.
