Why Korg doesn't have official forums

Post by hameds »

Hi,
Many thanks to sharp, karmathanever and other people who made this possible to have a forum for Korg keyboards.
My question to Korg is why there are no official forums available in Korg pa.com ??
This way all issues, suggestions and requests by users can be addressed to Korg directly.
I’m not sure whether this idea sounds good to members or not?
But this is something that Korg can and should do for us.
Regard

We have been informed by Korg that they do monitor these forums and they certainly have responded to many issues so far.

I agree. I like this place a lot, no question about that!
But in some cases I would like to communicate directly to Korg.
Would be nice if a part of THIS forum was used for that purpose.
With somebody from Korg company as moderator, for instance.

Respectfully....

...if you need to communicate directly with Korg then you need to do just that. Many members here have done that. Contact Korg distributors directly in your country and lodge your concerns/questions.

This forum is not the place to lodge official issues with the manufacturer.

We are VERY VERY lucky to have guys like Paolo from Korg Italy, who keeps in touch and does check this forum. It would be impracticable for Korg to use this or any other such forum as an official customer service facility.

Cheers

Another forum is nonsense. This is unofficial Korg forum, but like Nedim said it is also official, since it is mentioned on the KorgPA site.

Also Korg people are looking in this forum and you can send them a PB.

Like Rob sais: if you need to contact a Korg directly, just do that. Stop seeking for a forum, if you can send a fax, email or letter directly to Korg.

Any official forum would have to function pretty much the same as this one already does, which would make setting up a new one pointless. The function of a forum is to be a community, not a means to support peoples problems as such, although a certain level of that is expected.

It also takes many years to develop a community and to get the tone and level of respect people have for each other as you see here right now. A new official forum would be a disaster for many years before it could ever come right.

From a tech support side, the balance would also have to be as it is seen here already. A certain level of official support and announcements, but with the focus on the community side of things allowing fellow KORG users to work together.

KORG Forums is growing and changing all the time, as the needs arise we will adapt to them in order to provide the best possible community we can give you. But people should never see any forum as a means to demand official support. Even if it is an official forum.

An official forum cannot function as a community if people expect to be able to demand KORG's full attention with every little problem.

So even if the name over the door here changed here in the morning and KORG Forums became an official forum. Chances are not a lot would change, so be happy with all you have right now because it would take KORG years to create this themselves from scratch.

Regards.
Sharp.

Well,
As many have said this is it...If Korg had an official forum...can you even imagine alll the resourse it would take to man it all the time?

Non of the KB mfg's do it, because they don't have the resource.

Meanwhile, this is THE place for help, ideas and FUN!
What a great group of folks here.....THANKS!

Any response from Korg... would be welcome...

So, I don't much care if Korg monitor this forum, or their 'support email' in-box - but either way I would just like a reply when I contact them.

But, thus far, Korg have NEVER replied to any 'ticket' I have raised with them - despite their aiming to "answer all of our enquiries within 2 - 3 working days" - shame on you Korg!

Hi Henry.
Well as you can see from this thread, this is not the place to expect a response from KORG. If it was then the place would be a mess with people making demands. A community simply can't function like that so if you have a problem with KORG not answering your emails, call them on the phone and ask them what's going on.

I would be surprised if they where ignoring you. Have you checked your junk mail folder ?. The problem might be on your end.

Regards.
Sharp.
