super noob synth question

Post by collias »

I'm fairly new to synths. I've owned an R3 for a few months now, and there is one thing that really bothers me that I just can't figure out.

On some sounds I have, when I hold down a note, the sound fades in an out. If I want it to just stay constant instead of moving to the background, then the foreground, then the background again, what kind of variables or effects should I be looking at to get this to just stay constant?

Any info would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Sounds like tremolo to me. Lessen the tremolo if you want, but I wouldn't remove it entirely. A totally flat sound often isn't interesting.

Check what the envelopes or LFOs are modulating, and try setting the modulation amounts to 0 to disable them.

It sounds like you're describing the amplitude envelope. Play with your Decay and Sustain (as in, amplitude envelope ADSR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release).
