How can I get an update if I can`t log onto korguser.net ?

Post by blue monk »

Hi,

I noticed that I cannot register online at korguser.net.
I just bought a used Korg Legacy Collection which I want to upgrade to 1.2
So I need a dongle but I also need the update which is only available at korguser.net and it looks I cannot access the download page without logging in.

So what am I supposed to do?

This is a link to the Licensing Agreement. In it, you will read that the license is non-transferable. If I were you, I'd try to get my money back from the seller. You might also try searching this forum for other posts dealing with this issue.

Kind regards.

Hi Dave. I have read this but this is not legitimate in Germany.
I have contacted the local support and they told me how to transfer the license.

Good for you!

It's a stupid and petty restriction anyway that's solely designed to save KORG the administrative headache of having to deal with license transfers, and I wish all Euro countries followed Germany's example on this.

Kind regards.

surely it's designed to save Korg the commercial headache of people buying the software from each other and not from Korg?

What I did when I bought my KLC-1 second hand was ask the previous owner for his login details which he readily supplied. I then logged on as him and changed the user details, before having fun with the upgrade to 1.2.something.

When I had problems upgrading to 1.2.something, I was up front with the support guy at Korg who did the best he could to help. See if you can get the previous owner's details.

If you do register be careful, I have not been able to get latest version of the sybcrosoft sodtware to work on my intelmac.
It also says oon the syncrosoft website that they don't support this system aymore, well in the support section.

Ok so the server must of been down or something. I really do feel for software vendors when it comes to protecting their business, but keys really don't seem a great idea to me. There is always a way around these thing if you are inclined to steal software anyway.
Bang da box!
