new to R3...drum beats

hello
i just got my r3 and i totally dig it!!!
question though...i am noticing that several programs use drum patterns with electronic drum sounds that are not produced b the arpeggiator...can anyone explain this, or am i overlooking something? i edited patched with the editor software and just cannot figure out how these beats are being synthesized.

Look at the mod sequencer. Each timbre has one.

You can also route the pitch, filter and amp setting to the LFOs, then key and tempo sync the LFOs together on a dual patch.
