Microkorg and rc-2 loop station

Post by Boognisher »

I'm picking up a Microkorg very soon and I'm considering grabbing one of Boss's Rc-2 looping pedals. I've been wanting to grab one anyway for use with my guitar, but I'm just wondering if it could also be used with the micro as well?

Just for a little project I'm working on.

Thanks.

It'll work, but just monophonic, not ideal for keyboards with stereo output.

The KaossPad 3 can loop the guitar and keyboard, with lots of useful effects and sampling. The 4 sample pads let you layer the music. The sampling is stereo, and the software editor is useful for precise editing when hooked up to a computer. The SP-404 also does stereo sampling and looping, but it's not so easy to get clean loops when playing live.

Yeah, I'd be looking to use it more in a live environment in lieu of strictly in a studio setting.

I suppose it was the price of the pedal that caught my eye. The kp pads run for $500 right? They do look nice though.

I haven't really used keyboards or synths in my music making yet, so I'm still trying to flesh out my options. If I would go with the monophonic r2, would the sound really be that dirty?

You should probably wait to buy the looper until you have the synth.

What is your budget for the synth? for the looper?

Why are you looking to buy the Microkorg? What is it that appeals to you, price alone, or something else? What kind of music do you play?
