Really is a wonderful feature this AKAI support the OASYS has. faster loading than the Triton Studio, And a gazzilion times faster than the Yamaha A4000 I used to have (40+ minutes to load 58 megs of brass samples (from CD). I used to cook dinner eat it, wash the pots, and still see the percentage loader on the A4000 :D

Hi Sharp,
Thanks for all the wonderful work you do for us OASYANS.

I thought that the info in this thread would make a great addition to the WIKI over at Karma-Lab.

Might save folks a lot of wasted time and space!

do you think you might add an article over there?

Cheers,
Robert

Hi Sharp,
It seem like Akai has different formats ex. Akai S1000, S3000.
Does it make any difference when loading into the Oasys?
Thanks Frank

Anything between S1000 and S3200 format should work even though KORG say it's S1000 format you should be using. I have a few S3000 libraries and they work fine on the OASYS. I see no difference in them compared to how my real AKAI Sampler loads the same disks.

So I'd say that the formats to avoid are AKAI S5000, S6000, Z4 & Z8 formats. They are a different animal altogether.

Regards.
