Suggestions for improvements/changes on M50?

most of the features of this 3d are not in M3

The thread's subject is about suggestions, so what's the problem with making suggestions. It's not necessarily about wanting something but about telling what's missing.
Anyway, I read somewhere that Korg is known for its good support. My suggestion would make the machine a little bit better just by implementing a software feature. I don't know exactly if it's possible regarding available memory and such, but from the point of view of a programmer (and I am one) I would think that there is a real chance that the feature could be implemented.

You guys missread me and missunderstood me, trust me if Korg wants they
can implement anything, we cant even think of things they can implement.
If they wanted to they would've done it already, this is a 900$ machine and
thats what it offers for that money. Thats all i wanted to say.

I am asking Jerry for an Ashtray holder on the left side by the
pitch bend since ages but he never replied to me on that...

Having just read (& responded to) another thread on this forum, here's another suggestion -

Why the external power adaptor?

If you're travelling around with your keyboard, as I do, the weight of the adaptor has to be carried anyway
- why not just make it in-built in the first place??? - then you could use any 'kettle' lead to plug in.

It would be very helpful to have a "keyboard follows solo" function (in the 0-1 Menu list?) while in Combination mode (and possibly sequencer mode as well but I haven't played with that part of the M50 yet).

For example....

Step 1: Call up Combi A:000 Dreaming withoutSleeping

Step 2: Press the Solo button on Timbre 4 (P0:Play Page)

In the factory data, Timbre #4 is set to MIDI channel 2 and the keyboard is on MIDI channel 1 (as configured on the Global:P1:MIDI page).

In the current OS (v1.1 as of this writing), you don't hear anything when Timbre #4 is soloed and you play the keyboard, which makes the Solo button somewhat counterintuitive from a Combi setup/programming standpoint.

Switching back and forth between the Global:P1:MIDI page to set the keyboard's MIDI channel (temporarily) to the soloed Timbre's combi channel is a bit tedious, especially considering that you have to go to yet another page (Combi:P3:Timbre Param) just to see what MIDI channel that particular Timber is set to BEFORE you go to the Global:P1:MIDI page to change the keyboard MIDI channel so that you can finally hear what that Timbre sounds like.... whew....

One might suggest that you could simply set the MIDI channel for a particular Timbre on the Combi:P3:Timbre Param page to that of the keyboard (instead of changing the keyboard's MIDI channel on the Global:P1:MIDI page to match that of the Timbre), but the idea of "interrupted creative flow" still applies: you have to go to ANOTHER window just to "connect" the keyboard to the Timbre to audition it.

Adding a "keyboard follows solo" menu function would allow the user to quickly (and temporarily) audition which sounds in a Combi are assigned to a particular Timbre in that Combi by using the Solo button.

Apologies if I've suggested something that's already been addressed in some other way/feature...

Please let me know if there are any techniques that you favor when editing combis and auditioning Timbres in those Combis!

Velocity meter for each track in the Sequencer and Combi modes, making it easy to quickly see which tracks/timbres are playing, and which one is playing which part (like in the M3 Xpanded).

I think this will do fine. Just got one yesterday and works great (not for ashtray, but for a small bottle of water). It fits on any standard mic stand.

I am stuck using the M50....no midi controler. I am sorry to say the keys are not much fun...no stab or action worth mentioning. I now would gladly pay the price of weight for the keys on the Triton or early M1 w/at. I'll stop here as it sounds great....and will have controler online soon enough.

What version do you have? - I have the weighted 88-note...
& speaking as a piano player, I have no complaints whatsoever.

The 88 has excellent action. Probably the best out now IMO as it's fast and has good stab action. I am using the 61 key M50 and it is a long ways from acceptable as a controler. With Fatar 2001 I have no complaints but stuck with using only the M50 61 for now.

As said in another thread, have the chord buttons serve other purposes, like sending midi messages internally, selecting favorite combis/programs, etc. Let's face it, not being velocity sensitive makes them not really useful.
