how to connect radias to my cubase sx3?

Post by crystal »

i came for this middle to ask you how I put the settings of my radias synth(radias software program settings..-midi in,midi out and midi note in..) to could play and record it in my cubase sx3.

Could I made that connection only with the usb cable?

I´ve an M-audio firewire interface and I can´t connect the radias in that interface and I dont know why.

If you could help me I will be very greatfull.

Which interface do you have? I dont know how to use the Radias with the USB connection, but if your interface has MIDI In/Out, you can set it up to where you play/write the MIDI noted with your keyboard in Cubase, and have their output go to your MIDI Out, then connect the Audio Outputs of your Radias to the Audio Inputs of your interface, and have Audio Track Inputs setup to accept them in Cubase.

Hope this helps

HI,
you can't use the RADIAS editor in combination with a sequencer like cubase, you can use it seperately as a patch editor and librarian, but not at the same time as your sequencer (not without separate midi routing software, which i know nothing about).

if you just plug in the USB cable, then run the driver install and the install utility it puts under start > programs > korg> USB-MIDI Driver > Install Korg USB-MIDI Device (you don't need to do this on a Mac).

you should get two in ports and two out ports:
RADIAS MIDI In (this is the MIDI in arriving at the MIDI port of your RADIAS, use this as an external MIDI interface for other gear, or for note input in the editor if you are using an external keyboard)
RADIAS Knob/KBD (this is the controls and built in keyboard on the radias, so everything you do ON the radias comes into this port. use this as the data MIDI input in the editor, or if you have the RADIAS+KBD, use this as the input for MIDI track in your sequencer)

outputs are RADIAS SND. this is the sound generator in the radias, use this to trigger the radias' sounds or as the MIDI output for the editor for programming. so your track output should be set to this (if you are recording, you may want to turn local off in global mode to stop accidental note doubling from MIDI feedback).
RADIAS MIDI Out. This is the output port on the back of the radias, use this to use the RADIAS as a USB-MIDI interface for other gear.
