Zero8 will not Update to new Firmware

I recently purchased a Korg Zero8, and am unable to update the firmware. I have it connected to an Ultra IEEE 1394 firewire PCI adapter card in an Emachines W3507 with windows media center edition 2002 with service pack 3. I have all programs closed, Mcafee anti-virus disabled, tried two different firewire cables. Though it appears the mixer is connected through firewire as the light on the mixer is lit up, and the korg firewire control panel reads that it is connected. and streaming state as running. I have followed the update procedure to the t, with holding the ext1 cue, and controller Bank C to get the system update blinking wait lcd view, and then loading the ZEROSystemUpdater.exe through the 1.5 update, and 1.6; both tell me different errors from time to time, one error was: found no midi port, another is: Zero8(in update mode) is not found, another is update device is not found. I have unchecked both boxes, and changed the midi settings as stated in manual, also tried to load the .vsb file. I have googled everything about this for over 6 hours, and nothing comes up about my specific problem. The start up screen on the mixer states it is version 1.05. I have used the midi in Reason 4.0 and it works, but is jerky, and when using one midi channel other things are randomly changing without my control. Not sure if this is a connection issue, a mixer issue, or a computer issue. PLEASE HELP. The Serial Number is 0007*3 LOT No: F07.

this could be a signal quality issue as u are using a firewire adapter.
i tried one of these wit my zero4 and had problems.
try borrowing a computer wit firewire port for update

that was it, my pci firewire card could not make it happen for some reason, I went and used my buddies Toshiba laptop with 1394a, and it worked perfect, thanks for the advice. for a side note* I LOVE THIS MIXER!!!!
