MicroX Editor and OSX 10.5.6

Post by FLi »

OK...I've seen there are a tonne of these posts and I have read all of them with no answer. So hopefully this wont be too painful for the more senior members.

I have got the Micro X editor and VST to work on XP but I cannot get it to work on OS X at all. It opens but it does not talk to the Micro. Now i'm assuming that like the XP version, I need to activate the USB-Midi drivers. I have searched and have found nothing? Any advice?

PS...Pro Tools and Ableton both see the VST....but it means nothing if its not communicating to the Micro....is the Editor/VST compatible with OS X 10.5.6 ? I've searched on Korgs site and all you get is "OS X compatible"

I'm not sure what you mean by 'activating' the driver. Have you installed the Korg USB driver already?

Yep....have installed it but it pretty much does nothing :P thats why i'm wondering whether its OSX 10.5.6 compatible...
This Mac driver is compatible with Intel/Mac.
This is all you get on the download page...not terribly informative.

It should work with 10.5.6 without problems, I know it works here. People have reported issues with 10.5.7 though (see the M3 forum).

I've used the driver on 10.5.6 and on WinXP. the Mac version doesn't need 'activating' like it does on Windows.
Both work fine for me without any problems.

I don't have the mX but do you have to set the editor input/output ports for it to communicate with the mX?

talking about Apple Mac OS-X 10.5.6, not any Korg device OS update.

Okies..

1.) I got the Editor and VST to work via midi...works well enough, no USB but I'll survive.

2.) OS X 10.5.6 can be downloaded from apple.com. Just type 10.5.6 combo into the search and it'll take you to the download page. It's about 600mb :)
