Desparately seeking.... 88Keys

Post by EVPS »

Looking for an 88 M3 Keybed for the studio (hoping to keep the 61 for live use).

Anyone found a way of doing this without having to buy a full M3 88 Key bundle from a store? Would Korg sell me a keybed on its own?

Well, I'm exactly like you, just opposite. :D I will soon have my 88 at home and would love a 61 keybed to take to some gigs instead of carrying te full 88ies...

I honestly cannot believe that Korg built an awesome modular system and will not sell the pieces!!! Come on, guys!! There is NO WAY I will buy another M3 just for the 61 keybed, so eventually I will buy a crappy keyboard to connect via midi if you don't offer a path to own both keybeds...

They probably have a reason, but I cannot fathom what it is, it just doesn't make sense to me...

Cheers!

Didn't want to wait for KORG so I bought me a Fatar. I think KORG uses Fatar keybeds so I hope this feels like the M3-73 keys but than with 88 keys!

As Jerry from Korg mentioned in his post elsewhere Korg do not use Fatar keys any more now Korg use it own keys and I love the Korg M3 keys don't like the 88 keys much, preferred the Yamaha Motif 88 keys better

Yeah I think I'm going to avoid going with Fatar.

I did have a fondness for the Kurzweil keybeds - I'm considering, rather than selling/trading up the M3 for an 88 key M3, I might see what I can get for the keybed on eBay keep the module and pair it up with the PC3X.

I guess I could sit the module on one of those Laptop stands they make for DJs - so I could have it over the PC3 on the desk.

The Korg and Kurzweil technologies do work together quite well - I remember a while back charging through my old K2500's presets using the Karma Workstation to power it all and being very impressed (I've actually been through a lot of synths in the past year, been quite lucky on eBay and none of them have ended up costing me much, even made money on some of them).

Just thinking aloud here, but if there is anyone whose followed a similar route it'd be cool to know your thoughts, the PC3X looks amazing the only thing that put me off was the lack of a sampler but I guess if I was using the M3m then I'd still have access to a sampler.
